• A magnet has the property of attracting metals.

• There are three magnetic materials:• Iron (steel)• Cobalt• nickel

Shapes of magnets

• There are different types of magnets:• Bar-maagnet

• U-shaped magnet

• Round magnets

Poles of the magnet

• Any magnet is made up of two poles• The north pole (N)• The south pole (S)

Poles interactions

• Similar poles of different magnets will repel each other. (N-N and S-S)

• Opposite poles will attract each other. (N-S andS-N)

What happens when you break a magnet?

• The poles of a magnet can never be separated.

• When you break a magnet, it forms two new magnets.

• A magnet is made up of many small magnets
