The summer program at DW Poppy Secondary School has been designed to keep students connected to school and give them a head start as they transition into Grade 8. Moving to high school or simply changing schools can be a challenge for many students and extra time and suppor t c an make a huge difference in making a smoother, more successful transition.

We have designed a program that will include a variety of academic and recreation al activi ties

wit h an e mphasis on Musical Theatre and Physical Education . The curriculum is designed around being a successful student. In addition to core academic skills, we will focus on organization , cooperation , problem solving and working collaboratively with peers. The program is designed to be experiential and allow students to explore and partic

ip ate in the school community.

No school supplies are required, but we do ask that students bring a lunch on a daily basis. There may be some lunches provided. We will advise students of this in advance. Breakfast will be available if required. Due to the heat in the summer we ask parents pack adequate water and sunscreen. Please have students put on sunscreen before they leave the house, as we will be outside for a portio

n of the day.

Dates: Tue, July 2 - Fri, July 5 Mon, July 8 - Thu, July 11Time: 8:20 am - 1:30 pmPhone: 604-530-2151
