WEEK 1 – Wednesday 15th to Friday 17th April 2020
LITERACY NUMERACY INTEGRATED
Wednesday
Select a Just Right Book or continue with the book you are currently reading. Read for 20 minutes. If you do not have the resources at home, visit the following websites for readily available books:

Think of a catchy Title
Use the 5W’s to help you plan your writing:
Who? What? Where? When? Why?
You can do a letter/ postcard/ diary entry.
Practice your 3 & 4 times tables. Create an A4 poster to explain Odd and Even numbers to a family member. Complete Maths Plus Assessment pg. 2 – Revision of Odd and Even numbers.
Shopping at the home kitchen. You have to go shopping to buy your food for tomorrow.
1. Plan your meal plan for the day, this means what is for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks.
2. Go and source the items in the kitchen and ask mum/dad how much they will cost.
3. Calculate the total cost of your menu for the day.
Thursday
Continue to read your Just Right Book for 20 minutes. If you do not have the resources at home, visit the websites suggested yesterday. While you are reading, remember to back up and re-read if you lose meaning.
• Stop after each page or chapter, and ask yourself - who is in the story and what is happening? If you cannot answer those questions you should go back and read the text again.
• Use the following chart attached to help you.
Reading Response Draw up a T chart in your lined book. At the top write the title of the book and date. In the left column you are going to record who you are reading about and in the right column you are going to record what you are reading
Practice your 3 & 4 times tables. Complete Maths Plus Assessment pg. 3 & 4- Revision of Place Value
Parent Appreciation Your task today is to show your parents how much you appreciate them. You need to do different things to help out around the house, e.g vacuum the floor, help dad weed the garden, clean the windows, mop the floor, feed the pets, clean the pets, clean your room, take the rubbish out etc. Have your parents give you a rating on how well you did.

Free Fun Friday – Pick a board game or a game to play with your family (Charades, Guess Who, Monopoly, Chess, Go fish, etc.). Spend some time with your family having fun and playing a game.
