LET’S TALK TOGETHER ORAL LANGUAGE CARDSThis site offers free picture cards that help to promote spoken language and increase students’ vocabulary. The language cards focus on classification, word retrieval, explanatory language, and answering open-ended questions.
LALILO PHONICS AND COMPREHENSION, K-3This site provides free activities that focus on word recognition, word family, and comprehension. Teachers can set up a class list and send the classroom code to students and parents. Students complete an online placement test, and the activities are then differentiated.

LITERACY PLACE SHARED E-READING BOOKSLiteracy Place offers a number of books for students in Grades 1, 2, and 3.
The full-colour books have a variety of viewing options, and include teaching plans.
BOOKFLIXScholastic’s BookFlix offers a number of titles on a range of topics. A fiction and non-fiction book on the same topic are paired, and the highlighted text allows students to follow along easily with the story.
Students have the opportunity to complete follow up activities, such as word games, videos, and projects. An “Explore the Web” section provides a variety of links to other videos, songs, poems, and reading materials.

SCHOLASTIC LEARN AT HOME, GRADES 1 AND 2 This program provides a weekly plan with daily lessons that include fiction and non-fiction books from Bookflix. Students can read the book, or watch the story with highlighted text. Students then have the opportunity to complete a number of follow-up activities.
