Sundyne HMD KontroCompact sealless, magnetic drive, alloy and plastic pumpsThe GP Series has been designed as a range of technically advanced, hermetically sealed pumping systems, built to withstand the most severe process conditions.

HMD Kontro GP Series pumps are engineered to safely handle corrosive, toxic, noxious, carcinogenic, hydrocarbons, pyrophorics, heat transfer, and cryogenic applications. Available in a wide variety of materials, the range is comprised of a number of different pumping solutions to meet your requirements.

*As with all HMD Kontro pumps, totally enclosed inner and outer magnet rings provide maximum safety, whilst a bronze bump ring in all GP alloy pumps ensures safe and trouble-free operation.

As the welfare of personnel and the environment plus cost-reduction become increasingly critical for all industries, sealless pumps are achieving a growing reputation as a safe, reliable and cost-effective pumping solution. Improved magnet drive technology has enabled more effi cient and powerful pumps to be built, increasing the application scope for this technology.

All HMD Kontro pumps are sealless. This specialisation and focus ensures that you benefi t from the latest developments in drive, materials and fl uid fl ow technologies as well as our experience of having supplied more than 100,000 pumps.

The HMD Kontro product family has been assembled to provide designs matched to the pumping needs of process industries. Single-stage centrifugal confi gurations are available for fl ow rates to 686 m2/hr / 1,000 feet / 3022 gpm and heads to 240 m2/ 1,787 feet. Designs are also available to meet ANSI, ISO and API Standard 685/ 610 industry specifi cations.

Whether your pumping needs are acids, hot water, hydrocarbons, high melting point liquids, heat transfer fl uids or other corrosive, toxic, volatile and expensive liquids, or just typical process applications, HMD Kontro pumps will meet your needs. GPTA Single Stage Regenerative Turbine PumpThe GPTA regenerative turbine, mag-drive sealless pump is ideally suited for high-head / low-fl ow requirements, minimising the need for oversized centrifugals. GPTA turbine impellers are perfectly balanced (with no residual axial load) for added reliability in even the most adverse operating conditions. GPTA pumps are suitable for thin non-lubricating liquids and/or high differential pressure associated to a very low NPSH value.

GPA Sliding Vane PumpGPA Series Rotary Vane, Sealless, Mag-drive Pumps are ideally suited for low fl ow / high head applications. All GPA pumps are equipped with a zero leakage magnetic coupling to meet the latest toxic emissions regulations. GPA pumps feature self-compensation sliding-vanes, which maintain design head and fl ow capacities for extended operating life. GPA pumps are suitable for thin non-lubricating liquids and/or high differential pressures without rapid wear associated with gear mechanisms. GPA pumps are capable of self-priming from a dry start.

GPT Plastic Regenerative Turbine PumpThe GPT Plastic Regenerative Turbine Pump is ideally suited to low fl ow applications, The GPT Regenerative Turbine Pump avoids oversized centrifugals with excessive by-pass and power requirements.

GPT Regenerative Turbine Pumps are non-metallic and thus have excellent chemical resistance and extremely low wear characteristics. Variations in head calculations have minimal effect on the fl ow of a turbine pump. Also, turbine pumps can be throttled to a required duty point without by-passing.

GPHV Alloy Oscillating Piston Positive Displacement PumpsGPHV pumps prime automatically in heavy conditions with remarkable suction lift. A SundGard Power Monitor senses true power input and can be set to alarm or shut off if preset power limits are exceeded. By simply monitoring motor input power, nearly all pumping conditions that typically damage pumps can be quickly detected and avoided. SundGard™ Power Monitor FeaturesPM-1000 Power MonitorExtremely compact, the analogue PM-1000 is the heart of the system and is designed to fi t inside a standard motor starter box. With its integral current transformer and standard DIN rail mount, the PM-1000 is the basic system needed to protect your pump.

The PM-1000 is easily programmed to sense both high and low power upset conditions and send a signal that can be used to either sound an alarm or automatically shut down the pumpbefore signifi cant damage can occur.

PM-2000 Interface ModuleThe PM-2000 is a digital interface device designed to expand functionality of the PM-1000. It is powered by a 10V power supply and allows the user easy remote access to the PM-1000 controls outside the motor starter box away from high voltage connections. This arrangement is much safer and eliminates the need for the presence of a qualifi ed electrician to make simple setting changes.

The PM-2000 also has industry standard 4-20mA output for remote data readings, expanded trip delay range for added fl exibility, kW/HP/%kW unit display, remote reset, IP56 (NEMA 4X) option, DIN rail mounting options plus both hardware and software locking options to discourage unauthorised changes to settings.

Sealless SavingsSpecifying sealless, magnetic drive pumps can save signifi cant costs both in respect of time and money. Indeed, a major feature is that savings can be made before, during and after installation, with reduced running costs.

At the time of installation, commissioning is quicker, allowing faster project completion and there are far less lengthy HazOps (Hazard and Operability) studies to undertake, endure and agree, thanks to the much simpler design of the sealless pump.

Once up and running, sealless pumps really come into their own. Reduced downtime, because of less maintenance and no need for seal changes, contributes to much improved plant utilisation and hence profi tability.

The simplicity of design of a sealless pump, together with a proven track record, provides a ‘fi t and forget’ advantage. Not only is maintenance much reduced but also less need to keep spare parts, in particular, there are no seals to stock, and the need for skilled labour to be required is also reduced.

Sealless SafetyWith a magnetic drive pump there is no opportunity for leaks or emissions. Therefore, your EH&S (Environmental Health & Safety) personnel will like the fact that you specifi ed sealless.

Because there are no seals, and the resultant leak path, required to lubricate the seal, there is no need for EPA monitoring and much less risk to operational personnel on your job site.

No requirement for support systems and the fact that no barrier fl uids need to be used means much reduced possibility of accidents and emissions. It also reduces liabilities and can hence also help to lower insurance costs.

Overall, sealless pumps represent better operator safety, a cleaner working environment and reduced potential for legislation and litigation.
