Dear All Fellow Rotarians D3420, !Di bulan November tahun Rotary 2014-‐2015, kita telah memasuki bulan ke lima, berarti bulan depan kita akan memasuki bulan keenam atau separuh dari perjalanan pengabdian kita di tahun Light Up Rotary ini. Sudahkah kita berhasil mencapai setengah dari target goal kita ? Mungkin saatnya pula kita bersama-‐sama mengevaluasi diri apakah yang sudah kita capai dalam empat bulan terakhir ini cukup menggambarkan semangat juang kita di awal tahun? !Dalam kunjungan saya ke beberapa club yang sudah lebih dari separuh jumlah Club yang ada di District, saya menjumpai semangat yang patut di hargai dari club-‐club di

Congratulation to RC Bali Canggu as District Coordinator for RYLA - Junior

District, dengan rencana kegiatan-‐kegiatan project-‐project yang luar biasa, dan sangat membanggakan. !Namun di balik itu semua, masih ada tantangan hebat yang perlu kita hadapi yaitu bagaimana caranya kita mencapai goal pada akhir tahun Rotary nanti, terutama dalam hal pertumbuhan member dan goal kontribusi sumbangan kita ke TRF. !Pencapaian goal pertumbuhan member cukup menggembirakan yaitu lebih dari 60 member selama 4 bulan terakhir, namun kita kurang berhasil dalam hal membership retention, sehingga pertumbuhan district selama 4 bulan terakhir hanya membuahkan net gain sebanyak 17 member, yang artinya dalam empat bulan terakhir ini kita telah kehilangan 40 member lebih. !Saya menghimbau kepada seluruh President dan board dari club-‐club di District 3420 agar bekerja lebih keras untuk menambah member sebanyak-‐banyaknya tetapi juga harus selektif dalam kualitasnya; pertahankan member yang sudah ada dengan sekuat tenaga, jangan ada lagi member yang lepas. !Tema bulan November dalam tahun Rotary adalah juga bulan The Rotary Foundation (TRF), inilah kesempatan bagi kita untuk berkontribusi kepada TRF, goal yang terpasang di District juga masih jauh, banyak cara menyumbang ke TRF yg bisa dijadikan point untuk bisa meraih berbagai Awards termasuk President Citation. Misalnya Club dengan 100% anggota menyumbang ke TRF min 10 USD tiap member, Every Rotarian Every Year (EREY) atau sumbangan setiap club member sebesar 100 USD, Club dengan 100 % PHF, sumbangan ke Polio Plus dll. !Saya ingin mengingatkan bahwa program 50% matching recognition point dari District 3420 untuk mengajukan PHF juga masih berjalan, pergunakanlah kesempatan ini untuk mendapatkan PIN PHF hanya dengan berkontribusi sebesar 50%. !Seperti yang disampaikan dalam pesan bulan ini, RI President Gary Huang mengatakan bahwa Rotary dibangun dari landasan dasar PELAYANAN. Setiap proyek kemanusiaan bagaikan sebuah bata yang disusun untuk membangun Rotary. Di Rotary, persahabatan yang kuat dan pelayanan yang besar berjalan seiring. Jika kita menikmati pekerjaan kita maka kita senang melakukannya dan bekerja lebih keras dan lebih baik lagi. Salam Light Up Rotary,

!RI PRESIDENT - GARRY HUANG, MESSAGE - NOVEMBER 2014

Four months into this year of working to Light Up Rotary, I am more excited about Rotary than ever before. I've been to 22 countries, visited dozens of cities, and met thousands of Rotarians. I've seen amazing projects and been inspired over and over again by the terrific work Rotarians do all over the world. And I've been privileged to be part of all

kinds of Rotary events, from club meetings to Rotary institutes, from Rotary Days to Foundation dinners.

Every event is memorable. I feel especially honored when I am invited to share in club celebrations. To me, taking part in a Rotary club celebration as Rotary International president is like being invited to a family event as an honored guest. Indeed, Rotary is the biggest family in the world.

You could say that Rotary is built of service: Each project is another brick in the big building that is Rotary. If our service forms the bricks, then there is no question that friendship is the mortar that holds those bricks together. I see this every day, but nowhere more clearly than at some of the most special Rotary club events: their centennial celebrations.

Being president of Rotary International in its 110th year, I've been lucky to take part in a number of these. It is natural, when visiting long-serving clubs, to want to know what their secret is – because I have always noticed that the longest-serving clubs are also some of the most productive. They are large, they are active, and they do great work. Not only that, but they have a great time doing it.

Of course, that is their secret: In Rotary, strong friendships and great service go hand in hand. When we enjoy our work, we want to do it. We want to work harder, and we want to work better. We look forward to Rotary meetings. Even when our lives are busy, we make Rotary a priority – because we want to see our friends, and we want to serve.

That is why Rotary is still here, after more than 109 years. In Chinese, we say:

如果⼈人⽣生没有朋友，就等于没有太阳.

A life without a friend is a life without sun.

Our Rotary friendships give light to our lives, and it is Rotary friendship – as well as service – that lets us Light Up Rotary.

IGNITE YOUR LIGHT - RYLA JUNIOR

RYLA Junior 2014 Bali !Organised by RC of Bali Canggu under the Rotary District 3420’s Youth Service Programme, a total of 25 participants (age 11 to 17) from all areas of Bali took part. !Penginyahan Outbound Camp, Payangan Gianyar, Bali. The theme of this RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards) Junior 2014 is “Ignite Your Light”, it is in line with Rotary International theme “Light Up Rotary”. The 2-day-1-night programme was conducted by the professional Paratualang Adventure team lead by Mr. Maruta Kencana (a past Rotaractor and now a successful entrepreneur). ! DDG Nyoman Suastika opened the event, accompanied by AG Julia Rivai, P. Doris Sommer, PP Patrick van Kampen (RC Bali Seminyak), PP Asiawati Sanger, PE Agung Ayu

and Rtn. Megawati Rusligani (RC Bali Taman). !The rest of the morning was packed with games, created for all participants to learn about working together and solving problem as a team. 2 guest speakers; Ms Helena Keith who spoke on the subject of social manners; and Mr. Iwan Setiawan who is a motivator. !Second day was spent on a 2-hour village trekking while doing rubbish cleaning trail along the way. !RYLA certificates were given by DDG Nyoman Suastika. The best girl was Miss Samantha Chandra, and the best boy was Master Carlos Roberto Lukito. !Many thanks to DG and District 3420 with sponsorship and all Clubs who sponsored.

Total Giving 20%4. Total Giving /capita 10%5. Persentasi anggota yang menyumbang 10%6. All Time Giving 5%!Dengan pembobotan seperti di atas RC Bali Kuta menduduki peringkat #1 untuk periode Oct 2014.

RC Semarang Kunthi menyelenggarakan pelatihan yang mengubah sampah/limbah rumah tangga

The Perfect Moment to achieve Major

Donor Level 3

MD level 3 Pin was presented by DG Hanny Arianto

November as the TRF Month was chosen to be the perfect time for PDG Aloysius Purwa of RC Bali Kuta to complete his pledge as the Major Donor Level 3. !We came to this world with nothing, and will leave with nothing. and through Rotary , I am learning the purpose of living.

Al Purwa started his contribution and became PHF in the year of 1989. The PHF+1 happened 7 years after that. Slowly but surely, he continued to increase his contribution and by the year of 2007 he became MD Level 1. it took him merely 18 years to become MD level 1. But, it took him only 3 years to achieve his MD level 2 on 2010. This is the year when he was the District Governor D3410. !The year 2014 is a special year for Al Purwa, He pledge to become MD level 3 and ask PP Slamet Hartono and DG Hanny to do the same pledge. Now PDG Al and PP Slamet are the proud MD level 3, and soon DG Hanny Arianto wil join them. Contribute for Humanity.

Bulan Oktober 2014, District 3420 banyak mengagendakan Seminar. Dimulai dengan Rotary Academy untuk Rotarian di Solo, yang sukses diadakan awal bulan, Jumat 03

October 2014.

DG Visit Oct -Nov 2014

Kunjungan DG ke Jawa Timur diawali dengan kunjungan ke RC Sidoarjo pada tanggal 07 Oktober 2014. Tiba di Airport Juanda Surabaya, AG McDonny Nagasan telah siap menjemput DG kemudian langsung berkendara bersama DG menuju Sidoarjo. Club yang mempunyai member sebanyak 14 orang ini mempunyai beberapa proyek untuk membantu anak-‐anak Madrasah IbOdaiyah antara lain

bantuan kacamata, proyek kesehatan dan kebersihan mulut

!DG Visits Continue

Petang harinya DG kembali ke Surabaya dan bersama AG Maria Lily Sutedja berkunjung ke RC Surabaya Metropolitan. Rotary Club dimana PDG Thomas Aquinas bergabung, saat ini mempunyai 13 member serta mempunyai goal penambahan 5 member di tahun Rotary 2014-‐2015

Di Madiun, DG mendapat kesempatan untuk membagikan Nutrisi kepada anak-‐anak serta melanOk member baru

Keesokan harinya perjalanan DG dilanjutkan dengan tujuan Madiun untuk DG Visit ke RC Madiun Raya. Rabu 08 Oktober pukul 07:00 pagi DG dijemput oleh IPP Lusy TjindrawaO untuk bersama-‐sama berangkat naik kereta api ke Madiun.

Dari sini, DG kemudian mengikuO acara SEAMLESS Seminar sdi Surabaya pada 10 -‐ 11 Oktober 2014

Usai Seminar SEAMLESS dan Grant Management Seminar; bersama team YEP dan Service to the Youth, DG berkesempatan untuk membuka acara In-‐bound YEP OrientaOon Program di Batu Malang pada hari Minggu 12 Oktober 2014.
