obtaining of the fitness certificate of Commercial vehicles ismandatory on annual/biannual basis,

Whereas, the payment of token tax is also mandatory for allCommercial vehicles on annual/quarterly basis,

Whereas, as per provisions (Sec 66) of Motor Vehicles Act,all commercial vehicles (passenger and goods carrier) obtainingof Permit and renewal thereof on annual basis is also mandato-ry.

Whereas, the fitness certificate, Token Tax as well as thePermit has to be obtained / renewed / deposited with theDepartment in due time,

Whereas, it has been noticed that large number of GovtDepartments like Police, CRPF, BSF/ Semi GovtDepartments/Corporations and Educational Institutions are oper-ating their Commercial vehicles without renewal of fitness / per-mit as well as deposition of token tax with this office, which isclear cut violation of Motor Vehicle Act 1988 and Rules framedthere under.

Now therefore, through the medium of this notice, all theGovt /Semi Govt departments, Corporations and EducationalInstitutions owning such defaulting vehicles are appealed toimmediately renew the fitness / permit as well as deposit tokentax of their vehicles with this office within a period of one monthfrom the publication of this notice failing which the RegistrationCertificates of these vehicles shall be suspended /cancelledwithout any further notice.
