Mini-Tire Round Up was a huge success The summer camping program at the Kentucky Sheriffs’ Boys and Girls Ranch officially opened to campers for their 45 th camping season on Sunday, June 9 th . The camp runs throughout June and July, serv- ing both boys and girls alternating weeks, throughout the camp season. The Boys and Girls Ranch is a non-profit organization, serv- ing Kentucky’s youth through a camping program designed to build their self-esteem, while teaching them respect for themselves, others and law enforce- ment professionals. The camp is free to the campers, due to the dedication and support of our Sheriffs, mem- bers and contributors. The cost of serving the children costs about $500 per week per child. With continued donations and support from contributors, they will continue to reach Kentucky’s youth. 100% of donations di- rectly benefit the camp. “In addition to our regular camp activities such as arts & crafts, nature, sports, swim- ming, fishing, and ar- chery, we’ve added a few things to our play- ground and updated the climbing wall. The campers are excited to climb the wall! He was also an Honor- able Kentucky Colonel. He loved working on lawn mowers and had an extensive collection of antique tractors, mo- tors and farm equipment. He was a director for the Mason Co. Antique Machinery Show Inc. He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church and former mem- ber of the Mt Zion United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dolores Beyersdoerfer McCane, whom he married June 6, 1959; 3 children, Phillip McCane of Foster, Sheila (David) Moon of Ger- trude and Chuck (Jenni- fer) McCane of Gertrude. He said his great- est inspiration in life was his wife, Yvonne, whom he married in 1953 and enjoyed 57 years together until her passing in 2011. Together, their great- est accomplishment and source of love was rais- ing 13 children. Robert and Yvonne instilled a strong work ethic in their family as well as spiri- tual faith and church. He offered up prayers and daily rosaries for family and friends. He enjoyed woodworking in his spare time, playing cards, and watching ‘The Price Is Right’. "Topper," as he was known to family and friends, was a good manager and was always willing to help a fellow farmer. He also had many good friends who helped him, and he will be great- ly missed. A Funeral Mass will be offered at 10 am on Saturday, June 22 nd with rosary beginning at 9:45 am at St. Augustine Church in Augusta. Visitation will be from 5 pm until 8 pm on Friday, June 21 st , also at St. Augustine Church. Serving as pall bear- ers will be his grandsons. Interment will follow in the St. Patrick Ceme- tery in Maysville, KY. Ronald Lee McCane, 80, died on Friday, June 14, 2019 due to a trac-tor accident on his farm in Gertrude, KY. He was born on April 27, 1939 to the late William and Elizabeth McCane.

Together, their great-est accomplishment and source of love was rais-ing 13 children. Robert and Yvonne instilled a strong work ethic in their family as well as spiri-tual faith and church. He offered up prayers and daily rosaries for family and friends. He enjoyed woodworking in his spare time, playing cards, and watching ‘The Price Is Right’. "Topper," as he was known to family and friends, was a good manager and was always willing to help a fellow farmer. He also had many good friends who helped him, and he will be great-ly missed.

A Funeral Mass will be offered at 10 am on Saturday, June 22nd with rosary beginning at 9:45 am at St. Augustine Church in Augusta.

Visitation will be from 5 pm until 8 pm on Friday, June 21st, also at St. Augustine Church.

Serving as pall bear-ers will be his grandsons.

Interment will follow in the St. Patrick Ceme-tery in Maysville, KY.
