Report of Nodal TSKC (2015-Till date)

The TSKC in Government Degree College for Women was established with the prime motto of

enhancing the employability of its students, particularly those who do not opt for higher studies

after completion of their graduation. The TSKC aims to provide equal employment opportunities

to students from urban and rural communities through campus recruitments. TSKC trains

students in various areas like Communication Skills, Analytical Skills, Personality Development,

Soft Skills and Computers.

Jawahar knowledge centre provides intensive training to students in Communication skills , Soft

Skills and Analytical skills so as to enable students avail themselves of the bright opportunities

in the global job market.

This TSKC was designated by CCE as a Nodal TSKC.

The centre provided with state of art TSKC Lab and English Language Lab is totally

dedicated to students and totally involved in providing the best training to help students climb

the ladder of success. GDC (W), Begumpet known for its comfortable learning environment

encourages its girl students to aim high in life and teaches them to be creative independent and

self reliant. TSKC centre helps the students gain confidence and ability to contribute to the

economic, intellectual and prosperity of the country.

The TSKC training is supplemented with Guest lectures, Workshops and Special training

programs. After the training is completed, the TSKC with the support of TSKC monitoring cell,

O/o CCE conduct campus recruitment and different Job fairs.

October 2015: Meditation program for TSKC students. The Resource person,

Ms. Neelothpala, Preceptor, Shri Ram Chandra Mission (SRCM) gave meditation and self

development training to the participants.

October 2015: Seminar for awareness on “Prime Minister Kaushal Vikas

Yojana” (PMKVY). TSKC students were addressed by Mr. Surya Kiran, Franchise Head, Rooman Technologies,

Hyderabad.

30th

November, 2015: As directed by Commissionerate of Collegiate Education, Govt. of

Telangana, Hyderabad, Circular No. 1/CCE/TSKCMC-Online Courses-Pilot/2015-16, dated:

05.11.2015, Dr. P. Rajani, Principal, Government Degree College, Begumpet, Hyderabad,

constituted a Committee on 06.11.2015 to take forward the Online course pilot project – Libre

Office- Spoken Tutorial.

The Spoken Tutorial Project is the initiative of the “Talk to a Teacher” activity of the National

Mission on Education through information and Communication Technology (ICT), launched by

the Ministry of Human Resources and Development, Government of India. The Spoken

Tutorial Project is being developed by IIT Bombay for MHRD, Government of India.

The Online course- Libre Office was inaugurated by the principal, Dr. P. Rajani on

30th

November, 2015. 166 students from III B.A, B.Com and B.Sc with computer

science/applications subject, got registered for the 60 Hours Program. The online course was

successfully completed.

On 10th

February, 2016, an interactive session was held with honourable Deputy Chief Minister,

Sri, kadiyam Srihari garu, regarding online course, Spoken Tutorial – LIBRE OFFICE

WRITER. The students of our college participated in the interactive session convened by Smt.

Vani Prasad garu, Commissioner of Collegiate Education. Ms. Sruthi, Swetha, Mounika and

Ambica from III B.Sc, M.S.Cs participated in the programme.

MEGA JOB FAIR: 13th

& 14th

February, 2016.

A Job Fair was held at Govt. Degree College, Begumpet, by Rooman Technologies Pvt. Ltd., in

collaboration with 24X7 company. The College was a venue partner for the JOB FAIR held on

13th

& 14th

February, 2016.

164 students from the college attended the JOB FAIR out of which 129 students got job offers.

Results awaited regarding Just Dial company drive.

Some of the students who received offer letters from various companies like JUST DIAL, HGS,

COUNTRY CLUB, RELIANCE, DIGI CALL TELE SERVICES PVT.LTD, CARE INDIA

LTD.

News Paper Reading Activity for Batch-II Students:

Placement drives conducted so far: (2015 -16):

1. ELICO: 24-11-2015: 56 Students got offer letters from the company.

2. ADP: 27-11-2015: A Pre Drive seminar was delivered by Mr. Pankaj, Head, HR

department, ADP, Hyderabad.

5 students were given offer letters by the company.

3. GENPACT: 2-12-2015: A seminar on interview tips was given by Mr. Rajesh, HR

Manager, GENPACT, Hyderabad.

12 students were selected and given offer letters by the company

4. HDB Financial Services: 4-12-2015: 44 Students were selected.

5. Team -Viba: 7-12-2015: 74 Students were Selected.

6. ILM PVT. LTD (Institute of Language Management, Bangalore) : 15-12-2015:

46 students got selected in the drive.

7. As per the instructions from O/o TSKC, CCE, (Cir. No.01/TSKC/ITP/2016, Dated:

8. TRANSDYNE: 19-01-2016- Campus Drive conducted by the HRs of the company

Mr. VISHWANATH and Ms. APARNA.

9. 20-2-2016: Seminar on WISE program (Women in Software Engineer) by HR Mr.

Saikumar from Tecknowledge Development Pvt. Ltd., Begumpet (NSDC training

partner), on “Skill Development Training Programme”, under PMKVY..

10. Real Shoppee Retail Private Limited: 22-2-2016 - Predrive Seminar by Mr.Ajay, Team

Leader-HR Recruiter. 125 Students attended the drive.

11. TSKC One Day Workshop for State TSKC Coordinators on 27-02-2016: Ms.

J.Sridevi, Nodal TSKC Coordinator attended the workshop and gave feed back on

recently launched online course, Spoken Tutorial- LIBRE OFFICE WRITER. The

workshop was graced by the Commissioner of CCE, Smt. I Vani Prasad

13. Seminar On “Retail Management” on 31st March, 2016: Resource Person: Mr. Srinivas

Yadavalli and Dr. Suresh Padhi , Nithya Educom Pvt. Ltd.

50 TSKC students with good communication skills were screened by the resource

persons. The short listed students will be given 15 days certificate training course,

starting from 2nd

May, 2016, by Dr. Suresh Padhi, Nithya Educom Pvt. Ltd. in Retail

Management (Retail store operations) and later placed in GMR Retail Market.

BEST PRACTICES UNDER TSKC:

Online Courses offered by IIT Bombay, as a part of Spoken Tutorial Project

initiative, “Talk to a Teacher” activity of the National Mission on Education

through information and Communication Technology (ICT). The program was

launched by the Ministry of Human Resources and Development,

Government of India.

Assessment of TSKC trained students through regular tests including JAM, GD,

Aptitude and Reasoning Tests.

Regular Job Drives and Mega Job melas conducted on campus.

The College has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with Rooman

Technologies Pvt. Ltd. Hyderabad (partner NSDC/PMKVY) in view of bridging

the gap between Institute and Industry under TSKC. The company is engaged in

giving training services in the field of IT/ITES, computer networking Etc.

TSKC is working on the process of entering in an MoU with Lead Life

Foundation, an NGO. for facilitating the students with various awareness

and leadership trainings.
