The McCaw STEAM Academy (MSA) with our focus in geological exploration offers an educational option for students and families who would like to pursue their interests and aptitude in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. By adding the Arts to a STEM education, we incorporate student’s creativity and design into all of their learning. MSA provides students with accelerated curriculum along with concentrated experiences and content in an environment that is conducive to individual exploration, innovation, and problem solving. The MSA focus is on the ability to think critically and solve complex problems. It is through STEAM, our students gain the skills required to succeed in today’s challenging world. Special Features Laboratory experiences in facilities that support scientific inquiry, mathematical calculations, and

geological-earth science. Technology supports learning in the STEAM classrooms as a tool for teaching and learning. It also

functions with specific technology goals established at all grade levels to enhance students ability to process information, visualize and model, collect and analyze data, and facilitate the communication of ideas.

Home to The McCaw School of Mines, a simulated mine experience, where students and families come to learn about mining, the history of mining, and the importance of mining in Nevada.

Extra-Curricular activities such as Steel Drum Team, Choir, Jump Rope/Fitness team, and Desert Trackers Running Program.

After-school enrichment clubs and tutoring. Offer instructional support and clubs such as Robotics, Garden, Chef Club,

and the Green Team.
