Steps to donating a car

-Call or fill out an online car donation form.
-A car donation specialist will call you
back within 30 minutes to verify your
information and schedule a pickup.
-Know all your contact information including:
-Make sure you know the year,
make and model of the car, and
where the car will be picked-
up from.

phone number
-Goodwill accepts vehicles in all
conditions, even if they need
repairs or no longer run.
-Get an evaluation of your vehicle from a third party to assess its
value.
-After your car has been approved for
donation, the Goodwill collects the vehicle,
free of charge – and the title
is signed over.
-After your vehicle has been sold,
you will receive notification with
the amount it was sold for; this will
determine how much you can claim
as charitable donations on your tax
forms.
-Once it’s de-registered, then call
your insurance company to cancel
coverage (they might want a copy of
the donation receipt, too).
-Remember to take a “copy” of the
donation receipt, your license tags
and registration to the DMV as soon
as possible to de-register the car.
