Good for the environment. Good for business.
Complete Solution for Afforestation • Waterboxx Trays – for initial 8 to 9 months after the Tree is
planted to support the Tree growth
• Tal-ya Mats – to be used as Weed Mats for two (02) to four (04) year old Trees
Waterboxx solution…
Principle behind the Waterboxx Solution…
The principle of the waterboxx is a copy of the protecting process of excrement above the seed, which itself is sown on top of the soil
It has a diameter of 50 cms (20 inches)
A height of 25 cms (10 inches)
How does the Waterboxx function…
The center of the waterboxx has a tubular opening where one or two trees can be sowed / planted.
The tree must be planted in such a way that the capillary in the soil is not damaged and that the roots are connected to the soil. They will soon start to develop under waterboxx.
Fill the waterboxx with appropriately 15 litres (4 gallons) of water and pour approximately 3 litres (1 gallon) of water in the opening. Due to the design of the waterboxx the water will not evaporate.
How does the Waterboxx function…
During the night the surrounding air cools down faster than the cover of the waterboxx
An insulation plate is installed underneath the cover. Due to the temperature difference between the outside air and the cover, the waterboxx starts to produce water by mans of condensation.
How does the Waterboxx function…
Because of the pattern of the water is transported to the inside of the box through two small pipes on each side of the central tube.
How does the Waterboxx function…
The cover design also allows the capture of rainwater.
How does the Waterboxx function…
During the day, the (relatively cool) water reservoir ensures a cooler temperature in the tube than the outside temperature.
During the night, the (relatively warm) water reservoir ensures a warmer temperature in the tube than the outside temperature.
How does the Waterboxx function… • There is a wick in the inside of the box that drips
approximately 50 ml of water everyday • This allows the development of a capillary water column of
around two (02) meter under the waterboxx, copying the natural process of dropping excrement on top of the seed.
• The tree is stimulated to search for more water and improve its development; the roots start to search for water in the capillary canals below them.
• When the roots find enough water, a period of strong growth starts.
• The waterboxx can be now removed, the wick replaced and we can use the waterboxx for the next tree or seed.
Afforestation using Waterboxx
Tal-ya Solution…
Tal-ya Mat in Afforestation… • Tal-ya Mat water conversation solution
• Tal-ya Mat is recommended as a continued support for the Trees for – Weed management
– Funnelling water to the Tree roots
Tal-ya Mat in in Agriculture… • Tal-ya Mat is effective in very wide range of agriculture
sector including: fruit trees and bushes, vegetables, flower farming and more
Tal-ya Mat in in Agriculture… • Dramatically Higher Crop Yield – use of Tal-ya Mat has been
prove in the field trials to: – Shorten time to market
– Reduce labour costs
– Significantly improve crop yield
– Prevent crop loss due to extreme weather conditions
2 lemon trees planted simultaneously, after 3 years of identical care. Tree on left uses Tal-Ya Mat, tree on right does not (with drip irrigation)
Dramatically higher crop yield - use of Reusable Plastic trays
has been proven in field trials to:
Shorten time to market
Reduce labor costs
Significantly improve crop yields
Prevent crop loss due to extreme weather conditions
The Benefits – better output & efficiency

Water saving an average of 50% less is
needed (rainwater and/or irrigation)
to achieve same or better crop yield
Fertilizer saving- 30% less fertilizer is required
Reduced labor costs (weeding) as the
product does not allow light to penetrate
through the covering, therefore killing off
germinating weeds, and making use of
herbicide to the root obsolete
The Benefits – cost saving
* Figures are in comparison to drip irrigation; when compared to
traditional irrigation the savings are far greater.
