We created Hardelot as a golfing destination as long ago as 1981. This original French GolfHolidays destination, as well as the rest of the coast, has everything a golfer needs including fourcourses rated among Europe’s best. In addition to the outstanding quality of golf, there are manyother attractions: 70 miles of beautiful beaches, smart resorts, historic towns, great shopping and afine choice of restaurants.

Getting to this golfers’ paradise is easy - Folkestone-Calais with Eurotunnel, Dover-Calais/Dunkirkwith the ferry companies, overnight sailings from the north of England and Scotland to Zeebrugge,flights to Paris, and for city slickers looking for an easy break, try taking the Eurostar from Waterlooto Frethun where a taxi or coach will be waiting to transfer you to Le Touquet - just 40 minutesaway.

Our local influence and knowledge means that there is plenty of availability for our clients -particularly midweek - but do book early if you fancy taking a long weekend in May andSeptember. Late autumn, early spring and summer are ideal times to holiday as the courses are notbusy and the prices are very keen. As the soil is sandy, the courses are in great condition practicallyall year-round and even winter golf makes a refreshing changefrom the dreary conditions back home.

An increasing number of golfers are sampling the lesser-knowndelights of Saint-Omer, Arras, Dunkirk and Lille where there arefive good courses with uncrowded fairways, charming hotels andcosmopolitan towns. This relatively unknown area is calledFlanders and offers good beaches and delicious local cuisine atterrific value. Life is based around the rivers and countryside.There are war (Operation Dynamo) and sea museums to visit too.

La Mer is a wonderful test of golf and a scenictreat designed to test the very best.

A huge amount of time and money has been spent on thedesign and condition and what a course it is! The course is kept in superb condition withlightning-quick greens and the layout will testthe very best. Dunkirk is three miles from the

Dunkirk Channel coast and framed between water andfarmland, so there’s plenty of woodland, waterand the occasional breeze to consider. You canopen your shoulders off the tee but sometimesan iron is the sensible play. The clubhouse isgood and the warm welcome and great valueadd the finishing touches. Easy walking. A very good front nine features

water and well-guarded greensand the second nine provideswelcome relief if you need torescue your card.

Arras Overall, there are a few opportunities forbirdies but it takes a couple of rounds to knowwhen to attack and when to avoid thenumerous hazards. Very well maintained, easywalking and the clubhouse and brasserie(open all day) are run with panache. Threemiles north-west of Arras.

Wimereux The friendly welcome in the clubhousecontrasts nicely with the demanding openingsequence of holes (surely the toughest stretchon the coast!...) So deal with the challenge asbest you can, take advantage of the generousfairways, avoid the pot bunkers and make yourscore on the back nine...particularly the make-or-break Par-5 17th and 18th.

Even on a “bad-swing day”, the views of theChannel and Saint-Jean Bay make for amemorable occasion. The clubhouse fare issimple and tasty. Easy walking. Two miles fromWimereux and 12 miles north of Hardelot.
