DAGO POJOKC O M M U N I T Y L I B R A R Y

Dago Pojok, Bandung carries a rich culture and lifestyle, I knew that I had to design a library which complements and if possible en-hance their life, so that their tradi-tion would be innovated to the next level, but never, introduce something alien to them which might kill their richly cultivated lifestlye. I began to look further and deeper. People in Dago Pojok are very laid back type. They are a little separate from the busy city. They enjoy living, they are not in rushrush or in race with any develop-ment. They spend most of their day time outside their house, hanging around at any comfort-able corners at the street. It then hit me, that their every single community activities happens on the street. The streets carries so much signiicance to the local's life. Kids running all over the street, teen aged boys hanging around at the street shops while looking at cute girls, middle age aunties sitting along the street chichit-chatting while watching over their kids and also the old folks playing the ishing competition along the street. One major prob-lem I faced is that the reading cul-ture over there in Dago Pojok was
