W hen you accepted Jesus Christ as yourSavior—as the One who died on the cross, tak-ing on the punishment you deserve for your sin—youbecame a Christian and a member of God’s family. Hehas adopted you as His child and promised you, Hischild, eternal life in heaven.

The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit thatwe are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeedwe suffer with Him, that we may also be glorifiedtogether.

    ROMANS 8:16–17

of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spiritof promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritanceuntil the redemption of the purchased possession, tothe praise of His glory.
