September Breakfast The LM breakfasts won’t resume until coronavirus conditions are deemed safe … Stay tuned!
Comments and Observations What player holds the record for scoring the most points in a basketball game? What are the individual and team scoring records in sports overall? Who made All-City and All-State and when? What bands and choral groups won music competitions? Who were the Agonis Club Award recipients? Who entertained us in variety shows and plays? Who participated in fashion shows and various clubs? Who were on the yearbook staffs? Who were our student photographers?
What girls (and later guys) made the cheerleading squads? Who were our majorettes and drum majors? Who were the civic award recipients? Who participated in student government? Who attended Buckeye Girls and Boys States? Who scored the highest in district and state scholarship tests? Who were our class valedictorians and speakers? What seniors were big-time scholarship winners? Who formed the Lindenettes, who were the dancers, and how long did the group last? What happened to all the yearbook and school event and activity photos? What happened to the school’s athletic gear and memorabilia when it was re-purposed?
Some of this history is buried in yearbooks, student newspaper editions, and Linden News clippings. Some of it is passed along in an oral tradition (thank you, Ron Slagle '62!). Most of it is just lost forever.
LM Trivia Pursuit What was the name of our school librarian?
What four LM basketball players went on to play at Ohio State? Bill Melsop ’57, Tommy Bowman ’61, Jimmy Cleamons ‘68, and Tod Penn ‘77 …
QOTD (Quote of the Day) “A study … says that women have better verbal skills than men. I just want to say to the authors of that study: ‘Duh.’” — Conan O’Brien
