aul instructs us to put on the whole
armor of God, in order to "stand" or continue
to hold up against the "wiles" (trickery or
cunning schemes), in which the devil lies in

spiritual enemy, but once the enemy is
detected, he is stripped of his greatest
weapon of power, "deception."

In the book of Daniel, we see this play itself out. In Daniel chapter 10, Daniel prayed and fasted.
This chapter reveals several key concepts, we must remember as men, to successfully engage in
spiritual battle.
1) Spiritual warfare is critical to receiving from God
Jesus said, “Once the strong man is bound, then you can spoil his goods…” [Mark
3:27] Everything you’ve believed God for, but haven’t received, is in the enemy’s
camp! Nothing leaves Heaven without being challenged by Hell. Daniel had to stand in
faith for nearly a month, before he received from God.
2) Satan is organized
The enemy has a clean organizational chart with him at the top. The angel made it
clear to Daniel that this group hindered his answered prayer from arriving, yet his faith
withstood the onslaught. Ephesians 6 tells us there are principalities, which is the

greek word ‘archais’, meaning underworld prince. There are powers, which, in the
greek is ‘exousias’, which are curses, forces or spells. There are rulers of darkness
and spiritual wickedness that aim to influence anyone and everything that has
influence.
3) If you don’t think spiritual warfare is taking place, you’re already a casualty
When the angel responded to Daniels words of faith, instead of just giving him what he
asked for, he thought it necessary to explain the warfare that was taking place in the
spirit. Why? Because when you don’t know the process, you tend to quit before its
time. In the future, Daniel would be that much stronger when standing on God’s word,
because He now knows that warfare takes place in bringing it to pass.
It’s the call of duty gentleman! God wants each of us to be spiritual because the weapons of
our warfare are not carnal! If you don’t know how to operate His word, you are spiritually
unarmed. As we properly engage in combat, we’ll take back our families, and our community
while advancing His kingdom.

Q Should I be praying
with my wife?
W
Whether or not you and your wife pray
together is not nearly as important as
you knowing your role as spiritual leader
in the home. . .
hether or not you and your wife pray together,
isn’t nearly as important as you knowing your role as spiritual
leader in the home. Studies have shown that what the man of the house does, be it good or not,
has the most impact on a child’s behavior when they mature. Simply put, when you aren’t taking
your place in Christ, as a godly leader within the marriage, it influences everyone for the worse,
more so than if your wife wasn’t. From there, you need to structure a plan that assures that first
your wife, and then your children are developing spiritually. You want them to seek God both
individually and directly under your leadership as a group.
Remember, as they see you living by faith on a regular basis, it’s easier for them to do so as
well. As you do, you’ll notice their confidence in you rising, along with their spiritual growth!
