The Challenge GM Holden needed to increase car volume production, adding another shift to the vehicle operation division at Elizabeth, South Australia. The current cost of recruitment (with another supplier) was high and inefficient with the success ratio being approximately 10:1. The Solution Kelly Services knew that it was imperative to get the sourcing model correct so we arranged to meet on site at Elizabeth with the GM Holden Talent Acquisition and HR Team. Options for processes were discussed in detail and analysis of the specific needs and requirements of GM Holden was conducted. Kelly Services was initially engaged to recruit 30 permanent contract roles. After our initial success with these placements the number increased to 156 personnel. As a result, Kelly Services developed a tailored and structured recruitment process. Kelly Services were to complete screening, interview, agreed testing and reference checks. We established a shared goal with GM Holden of reducing the hiring ratio to 3:1. The ResultsOver 150 people were successfully recruited within 3 months and a 3:1 placement ratio was achieved.As a result of our outstanding recruitment numbers, Kelly Services were engaged to recruit further 80 staff were recruited in 2011 with again a 3:1 success rate.
