Gloucester County Amateur Radio Club General Membership Meeting January 4, 1984
The meeting was called to order @ 2000 Hours by President Harry Maxfield WA2VXT at the VFW Hall in
Woodbury Heights, N.J

Treasurers report was read and approved. Balance on hand was $8373.64.
A letter was received from A.W.A.R.E. that Senator Barry Goldwater, K7UGA, will speak. We will get notice
when the date is finalized.
Edward Wargo, KA2KMW, was appointed Assistant Emergency Coordinator.
The Milt Goldman Award given to Herb Schuler, K2HPV. The presentation was made by John Fisher, K2JF.

Repeater: 450 repeater is in. Antenna is on order. The repeater will be installed temporarily at the QTH of Bill
Frambes WB2FJE.

RFI: John K2JF, stated committee may get receiver that caused 2 Meter complaints for evaluation. FCC will not
dismiss cable complaint.
Jackets: Herb K2HPV, reported 70 club jackets were sold. No new jackets will be ordered for a few months.
Technical Committee: RTTY - CW boards in for interface. Proms 2732A are on allocation, should be available
in two weeks. If members can get thier own 2732A's they should be dropped off at K3WIL shop for Chick
WA2USI.
Training: Monday Jan 9 Novice Exam. New classes start on January 23, 1984 for Advanced and Extra classes.
Chuck Naylor WA2USI will the start class with a test to determine what studies will be needed. Courses to be
given at Glassboro State College.
Committee Reports
Bike-a-thon: The Bike-a-thon will be held in July. Harry WA2VXT and Steve KR1M will be chairmen.
Jay-Cee Bike-a-thon will be on April 15, 1984. Chuck WA2USI will be Chairman.
Hamfest new chairman will be Bill WA2VEE.
Program Committee: Tom KB2GI.
Field Day: Chairman will be Jim KA2OSV.
Club Historian: Della W2AFZ.
Award Committee: John K2ZA.
Contest Committee: Dennis N2AJI.
ARES: Harry WA2SEA and Ed KA2KMW.

The Club Anniversary open house will be in March 1984, we are looking for a larger place to hold it.
A "Dinner Dance" is planned for October 1984 to celebrate the club’s 25th year.
Bill WB2FJE, Milt K3WIL and Jim N2AJN, will try to come up with a certificate for members.

The monthly Board of Directors meeting was held at the home of Tom Gordon KB2GI.

The Treasurer’s report was read, balance on hand $7920.82
A discussion was held on Money Market Savings Deposits and it was decided to move $7000.00 to MMSD.

It was moved and approved to waive initiation fee for W2UNI.
The 440 Repeater is on the air from Bill Frambes WB2FJE's QTH.
There was discussion on purchasing a new Dialer for Repeater. It was decided to return the Demon dialer and
ask for a vote at the general meeting to purchase a smart controller.
Also to be brought up at General meeting was a request to hold RTTY Net on 147.180 MHz repeater on
Monday evenings from 2000 to 2100 Hours.
Anniversary Committee: October 20, 1984 Dinner Dance at either Cavanaugh’s Country House in Turnersville
or Tall Pines. Approximate cost will be $40.00 per couple. Members tickets to be reduced approximately
$10.00. It was decided to let the committee members choose the menu.
Open House Meeting on March 7, 1984 at Clearview Regional High School.
A discussion was held on having the Hamfest at the Clearview Regional High School on a Saturday, but no vote
was taken.

Operating Weekend at the Deptford Mall on February 4 & 5, 1984 Scout exposition to be set up.
Sonny WB2DXB was appointed chairman of the Long Range Planning Committee.
Peg Bergen K2INQ has been ill and a card will be sent by Club.
The Board voted to purchase a PA system from Radio Shack for the sum of $379.00
The IRS rejected the tax filing, and Harry WA2VXT will get further information for them.
New Business: The Boro of Pitman wants members with HTs in 4th
of July parade.

The regular meeting of the GCARC was held at the VFW Hall in Woodbury Heights, N.J.

The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as read.
The Treasurer’s report was approved as read. The balance on hand was $7784.87. It was announced that
$7000.00 will be switched to MMDA account.
The meeting was informed that the USS Becuna will be on the air on April 8,1984 @ 1600Z to 2000Z.
On March 15, 1984, Senator Barry Goldwater will be at Brandywine Terrace Dinner @ 1800 Hours. Many
GCARC members will attend.
A new PA system was purchased and Bill WA2VEE will be the custodian.
Committee Report:
QSO: Dennis Sandole WB2GES will be in charge of Two Land QS0 party.

Dinner Dance: Will be held at Cavanaugh’s Country House in Turnersville on Saturday, October 20, 1984 @
1900 Hours. Menu will be Steak or Stuffed Flounder. Cost will be approximately $30.00 each, but members
will get a reduction on their own ticket.

Open House: It will be held at Clearview Junior High School on March 7, 1984. Hugh Turnbull W3ABC will
be guest speaker. Refreshments will be served.
Repeater: Request for use of the 147.180 MHz repeater for RTTY on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from
2000 to 2100 Hours was approved.
Bike-a thon Harry WA2VXT asked that members let him know if they have any ideas.
Hamfest: Bill WA2VEE, announced that all sub-committees have had chairman appointed. There was a
discussion on where and when the Hamfest will be held. Several sites will be looked into.
RFI: John K2JF requested he be informed if the NY Times cable TV causes any TVI.
Training: Chick WA2USI announced the 2732 PROMs are in. Chick requests that those attending classes check
the 147.180 MHz repeater on the night of the class to see if there are any cancellations.
Field Day: Jim KA2OSV reported that plans are being made for Field Day at Gloucester County Community
College. Band chairman have been named, more operators will be needed.
Operating Events: Walt WB2OYQ stated that they will operate at the Deptford Mall on February 4 & 5, 1984
with the Cub Pack of the Boy Scouts.
Operating: Worked all club members nets will be on 7.275 MHz on Sunday mornings @ 1000 Hours and on
28.775 MHz on Friday nights @ 2200 Hours.
Projects: Complete kits for a Noise Bridge will be available from Charley K2PQD at the Open House Meeting.
The program for the evening was a talk on RTTY SWL listening given by Tom N2BPN.

The monthly Board of Directors meeting was held at the home of Tony Starr,WA2FZB.

Dates and Time: 0000Z April 1 to 2400Z April 7,1984. Frequency 14.280 MHz, 21.380 MHz, and 28.580 MHz.
A discussion was held on having a Junior Membership. A motion was made by Tom N2BPN. An amendment
will have to be approved by the general membership.
Committee Reports:
Dinner Dance tickets will be for Saturday, October 20, 1984, 1800 to 2300 Hours.
Repeater: RTTY group wants to change to one night a week on Tuesdays @ 2000 to 2100 Hours.
Open house went over well, very large attendance. Demo team to be tied into Club activities.
Operating Event, May 5 & 6, 1984. Site to be discussed.
Chairmen of committees will be asked to submit reports of progress to the Corresponding Secretary, so board
can help expedite.

Hamfest: Exams will be given at Hamfest. No definite site as yet.
Old Business:
Discussion on 2 Meter club net. Howard K2QGH, will make announcements @ 1950 Hours each Sunday.
IRS: Still waiting for OK on Articles of Incorporation.
New Business:
Tom KB2GI, suggested Memorial Services for Silent Keys be held each year. Will be discussed at next
meeting.
July meeting falls on 4th
of July, so meeting will be July 11, 1984.
All dues are due by March 31, 1984. After this date the dues are $20.00. Any member not paying full fee will be
brought before the Board.

May 5 & 6, 1984, operating event for 25th
Anniversary of the EOC in Woodbury. Certificates will be issued for
contacts.
Bike-a-thon on Sunday, May 6, 1984.

Hamfest: No Site as yet. Decision will be made within 2 weeks.
Field day: June 24, 1984. Need band chairmen for CW. Site to be at the Gloucester County Community
College.

Copier gave trouble, IBM called, was fixed on Thursday, at cost to us of $322.00.
John K2JF spoke on rights of Amateurs, they are not authorized to publish out of band remarks.
Tom N2BPN made a motion that the club should have Junior memberships for young members. It will be
brought up as an amendment.
Walt WB2OYQ asked that the club send a letter to Mazuri for fast service on the repeaters.
Herb K2HPV announced that new orders will be taken for Club jackets.
Crosstalk: Doug WA2NPD advised there will be a ten day deadline before publishing date.
Repeater: 450 repeater will be relocated. Two Meter repeater will be upgraded.
John K2JF announced that tests will be given at the Hamfest.
Chick WA2USI, stated that Fall classes will be held for Novice and Technician Class.
May program to be Skywarn.

Howard K2QGH, read a letter sent to new Amateurs soliciting new members for the Club.
Membership: It was voted that James McDonald Jr WB2AOL and Merrill J. Brown Jr KA2SZA be admitted as
new members.
Repeaters: The Board decided to bring up purchase of a RC-850 repeater to general meeting.
Hamfest: The site of the Hamfest will be Gloucester County Community College on Sunday, August 26,1984.
Field Day: The Field day will be June 23 & 24, 1984. A motion was approved to buy a dining tent for Field Day
use.
Emergency operating center to be used for Special Events station May 5 & 6, 1984, 1200 to 1200.
Operating event: The club has permission to operate in the Deptford Mall.
Jackets: Ten jackets have been ordered. After next general meeting orders will be closed.
RFI Committee: John K2JF, will continue as chairman.
Bike-A-Thon: July 22, 1984. A welcome room will be at Claridge Hotel in Atlantic City.
Charlie K2PQD, submitted a questionnaire to be circulated amongst club members.
A kudos for Club contacts will be published in Crosstalk.
The Club is still looking for information for the IRS.
New Business:
A discussion was held on having a technical paper for the club, published by Charlie K2PQD. It was voted to
allow Charlie K2PQD to go ahead and use club copier.

The regular meeting of the GCARC was held at the VFW Hall in Woodbury Heights, NJ.

Herb K2HPV, took the last orders at this time for jackets.
March of Dimes Walk-A-Thon went well under the fine direction of Harry WB2GSF.
Hamfest Committee: Tickets were given out by Herb K2HPV. The Hamfest will be held at the Gloucester
County Community College on August 26,1984. Tickets will be $2.00 in advance. Prizes to be a Kenwood TS-
430S, Commodore 64, and ICOM IC-4AT. The flyers for the Hamfest will be available soon.
Operating events: Jay-Cee Bike-A-Thon on May 6, 1984. All operators to be in position by 0930 Hours.
Field Day: Jim KA2OSV, made plea for cooperation, and asked for more volunteers.

Bike-A-Thon for the American Cancer Society will be July 22, 1984. Will leave Philadelphia @ 0700 Hours
and end at the Albany Avenue Park in Atlantic City.
Pitman July 4th
Parade wants seven operators.
Operating Event: Will be held 1200 Saturday, May 5th
to 1200 Sunday, May 6th. Club call,W2MMD, to be used
and certificates given to all contacts who send QSL cards to Box 370, Pitman.
Repeater: The 220 repeater will be moved to the roof of Kennedy Memorial Hospital and be linked to the
Metro-Com system. Auto patch code will be changed. Cards will be sent to all paid up members. Russ
WB3JVX, spoke on upgrading the 2 Meter repeater, gave tape demo on what controller will do. The Club voted
to buy the RC-850 repeater controller.
First reading of Junior Class Membership amendment read by Tom N2BPN.
A letter was read from Hugh Turnbull W3ABC. VEC examiners will be ready by Fall. Volunteer monitoring to
be ready soon. ARRL expects new World Radio meeting on frequencies soon.

New Business:
Steve KR1M made a motion to create a Public Service committee. It will be taken up at Executive Committee
Meeting.

The monthly Board of Directors meeting was held at the home of Bill Kardas N2BK.

The minutes of previous Directors meeting were read and approved.
The Treasurer’s report was approved. Balance on hand $17,952.13.
Corresponding Secretary, Howard K2QGH, read letters sent to Miss DE Lee Mc Cormick at St. Judes Hospital
and Mazziore Electronics Labs. Howard also read a letter from ARRL on liability insurance for the club. It was
decided that we get a better deal with the policy we have now.
Membership Committee:
Robert Newhart KA2QGO was approved for membership.
IRS still needs approved Articles of Incorporation, an effort will be made to obtain them.
Field Day: Field Day is well organized. Howard K2QGH has borrowed tent equipment for mess hall.
Repeaters: Check for $520.10 sent for deposit on repeater controller. Total cost to be about $3200. 220 repeater
to be placed on the roof of Kennedy Memorial Hospital, Egg Harbor Road. The Metro-Com link up will be in
June.
Hamfest: Possibility of Senator Barry Goldwater being at the Hamfest. Exams will be given at the Hamfest, up
to and including Amateur Extra Class.

Demonstration Committee: Requested use of the Deptford Mall on one of following dates: June 10, July ?, or
August 12.
Sixty cards received so far on Club Operating Event on May 5 & 6, 1984.
Jackets: Herb K2HPV announced that 123 jackets have been ordered so far.
Memorial Services for deceased members will be held at the June meeting.
Chris KC2PC wants Club members who work on Club projects to have recognition.
New business:
Meeting place does not have enough parking space. We should consider looking for new meeting place.
Public Service Committee to be at the Board of Directors meeting, chaired by the Vice President. No one will
commit the Club unless approved by Vice President.
The Directors voted to expand the Legislative Committee and to pay phone bills accrued by committee on Club
business.
Harry WB2GSF read letter from the Red Cross thanking club for the Walk-A-Thon help.

Gloucester County Amateur Radio Club General Membership Meeting June 6, 1984
The regular meeting of the GCARC was held at the VFW Hall in Woodbury Heights, NJ.
The meeting was called to order by President Harry Maxfield WA2VXT.

The meeting was opened with a Memorial Service for Silent Key members. Charlie K2PQD read the names and
Chaplain Bill K3ALS gave the eulogy and prayer.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
Treasurer’s report: Balance on hand $17,381.03.
An announcement was read of the marriage of Allan Gartner WB2RRJ to Miss Lisbeth Ann Jordan.
The July meeting will be on July 11,1984 @ 1930 Hours. Featured will be a Skywarn training film.
John K2JF, stated that a low pass filter must be on your set to meet FCC specs.

Committee Report:
Field Day: Jim KA2OSV said all bands are covered and thanked Club for support given.
New members:

Public service event: Demo station at Deptford Mall on July 8, 1984. Tom N2BON will be in charge.
Bike-A-Thon: Final instructions at July meeting, shirts will be given out.
220 repeater to be on Hospital soon. It will be linked to Metro-Com. ARES net under Harry WA2SEA, will be
on Metro-Com.
Contest Committee: Dennis WB2GES, spoke on Two Land QSO party. High score on ARRL Contest: Tom
WA2OOS won trophy.
Dinner Dance: October 20, 1984 @ 1800 Hours. Member tickets reduced by $15.00.
Hamfest: Bill WA2VEE: The flyers are out. Displaying dealers will bring goods ordered before Hamfest with
them.
Jack WA2PPN has been appointed Assistant Radio Officer for Camden County.
Chick WA2USI, received plaque for work done by club at Retarded Citizens Bike-A-Thon.
Old Business:
Tom N2BPN gave the second reading of Junior Class amendment. It was approved by the membership.
New Business:
Trustees are responsible for all Club property. There will be a trustees meeting soon and property will be
itemized.
John K2JF, stated GCARC will be a VEC for this area.

Treasurer’s report approved as read.
W.A Utley W2CB, was re-voted into club upon paying dues and penalty.
Field Day: It was decided that both members and non members may participate in Field Day.
Repeaters: Payment was voted for $2084.00 balance on controller, $114.00 for pre-amplifier, $60.00 PL
decoder, $200.00 for receiver.
The 220 antenna was installed on Hospital. We are waiting for enclosure to finish installation. The 450 Repeater
down at present, at Mazziore’s for repairs.
The repeater committee to be in control of shuting and starting repeater.
Bike-A-Thon: To be held on July 22, 1984, all are asked to be on hand @ 1930 Hours.
Old Business:
Club Articles of Incorporation certified in Trenton.
It was voted to renew policy on photo copier. A check for $100.00 was sent.
The Board voted to get ARRL liability insurance, $140.00 for 1 year.
New business:
Continuing education bill will put club in book for Novice and Technician Classes.
John K2JF, will be asked to clarify remark that club was South Jersey VEC.
Chris KC2PC, to order call book supplements from A&A and give them to Bill N2BK.

Dinner Dance: Roz N2AKL said that the Dinner Dance at Cavanaugh’s Country House in Turnersville on
October 20, 1984 will cost $30.00 per person for prime rib and $28.00 per person for fish. $15.00 will be
deducted from member tickets.
Repeater: Controller expected soon, all repeaters working well.
Bike-A-Thon: Harry WA2VXT distributed shirts. Problems on routing were discussed. 147.180 MHz repeater
will be used from Philadelphia to Route 54, and simplex on 147.540 MHz will be used from Route 54 to
Atlantic City. All units urged to be on location by 0700 Hours.

The Board voted to ask that the Technical Committee give a report on the 220 Receiver. All parts are in for the
2 Meter repeater, and an antenna for the 450 repeater has been ordered.
Demonstration Committee: Demo at the Mall went very well. Committee to explore new places for Demos.
It was decided by the Board that Tom N2BPN will call Metroplex and find out what VEC's are liable for.
Crosstalk: New Editor Tony WB2FZB did a fine job on Crosstalk. He asks that all material be submitted on
time.
Bike-A-Thon: The 147.180 MHz repeater will be used on northern end and 220 for southern end, with 2 Meter
simplex for back-up. A staff person from Cancer Society will be at every rest stop. 2,669 bikers to participate.
Old Business:
John K2JF was voted $67.35 for phone bills and night letters.
New Business:
Harry WB2GSF asked that the mail for Directors be forwarded more often.
A long discussion was held on motivating club members, so more will serve on committees. The board
members held a round table discussion on contesting, publicity, and VEC. The next general meeting to be open
discussion to get ideas from our club members.

Skywarn. Weather net is on Sundays @ 1000 Hours on 220 Metrocom.
John K2JF spoke on the future of 220. He stated that more activity on 220 would help.
Bike-A-Thon: Certificates of appreciation were given out. Many ideas on future Bike-A-Thons were given from
the floor.

A discussion was held on using the Club’s printing facilities for Southern Jersey Sectional newsletter.
Open Forum: The question was raised: What does the membership want from the Club?

The board voted to pay the following bills: $35.00 for two hard line connectors, $63.69 to K2JF for mail and
phone costs. The telephone bill for the repeater was $49.45.
The M.S. Society asked for 6 operators for Bike-A-Thon to Ocean City and back on September 15 & 16. Russ
WB3JVX will be in charge. The board requested that longer notice be given next time.

The board discussed the VEC arrangement and voted for it to remain a club project.
Technical Committee: The 220 repeater at Washington Township site is having trouble with the receiver. The
board voted to buy a new receiver for $203 96. The board also voted to buy a rack mounted Astron 35A power
supply for the 2 Meter repeater.
Old Business:
Club has not been too active in contests and efforts will be made to motivate club members.
Club should work now on the Two Land QSO party and also on Sweepstakes in November.
The board will try and push for more publicity and explore other means that have not been used.
Bill N2BK announced that classrooms will be available at Glassboro State College for Ham Radio classes.
September 17, 1984 will be an orientation class and the first class will be on September 24, 1984. Classes will
run until January 14, 1985.

October 20th.

Tonight's program will be presented by Paul Corsi N3DKG on the subject of cellular mobile telephone systems.

The treasurer's report was read and filed by Bill, N2BK. The old balance was $14,663.78. With total
disbursements of $3,640.66 and total income of $2,912.12, the new balance was $13,935.24.

HAMFEST : Thanks were given to Delaware Amateurs Supply for providing the electrical power wiring to us,
but they complained that we had too many vendors. It was revealed that KJI Electronics will be at next year's
Hamfest. Chick reported that everyone ate well this year. Bill, WA2VEE, thanked all who participated.
Individual committee chairmen all reported great success. More money was taken in this year than any other
year that we've had a Hamfest. We might possibly break our profit record from two years ago of $4,100.00,
when all is settled. It was concluded that the Hamfest was a great success. Harry thanked Bill for a job well
done.
DINNER DANCE : Roslyn, N2AKL, gave an update on the upcoming event. All plans are coming along well.
CONTESTING : A fraudulent post card was sent to the Club alleging that the certificates for the TWO-LAND
QSO Party were never sent out. It was reported that Dennis, WB2GES, has not been able to fulfill all of his
duties as Contest Chairman due to his work schedule and the recent loss of his father. Bill, N2EWY, agreed to
take over administration of the TWO-LAND QSO Party, but a new contest chairman will be needed to take
over for Dennis.
TRAINING CLASSES : Chick, WA2USI, had posters announcing the upcoming classes. He asked the
membership to circulate these posters at local stores.
REPEATER COMMITTEE : Russ, WB3JVX, gave a discussion on the new controller. A question and answer
forum followed.
Walt, WB2OYQ, announced a teleconference on 220.
OLD BUSINESS : There was no old business.

The Board voted to pay phone bills submitted by John K2JF.
After much discussion the Board decided the following procedure:
When the Repeater is interfered with maliciously, the Direction Finding Committee will compile the
information and give a written report to the Repeater Committee, which will in turn submit a repot to the Board.
The Board will in turn contact the FCC The Board will back the control operators when they turn the repeater
off for interference and/or obscenities. The Club will not tolerate any malicious interference to the repeater.
It was voted to move the extra phone line to the 220 repeater in Washington Township and pay for the auto-
patch.
The Club recieved a plaque for the MS-150 Bike-A-Thon. The group did a fine job. The 220 repeater was used.
Russ WB3JVX was chairman of the committee. Matt WA3WPA was sent a letter of thanks for his help.
Bill Datts N2EWY, will chair the "Two Land" QSO party.

Maxfield announced that the VFW will raise hall rental from $135.00 to $145.00.
Repeaters: Chuck WA2TML announced that the auto-dialer will be loaded into repeater. The receiver problem
stems from the 15 Kc filter and it will be corrected.
New Business:
Walt WB20YQ ran part of Metro-Plex tape, so the club could decide if we want to join 2030 to 2100 Hours
every Thursday. The question was referred to the Board.
Budget Committee: Tom KB2GI read proposed budget for 1985 of $4140.00. Dues to remain at $15.00 per year
for members. It was voted and approved.
Chuck WA2TML proposed a control committee for the repeater. It was tabled and will be brought up at a Board
meeting.

The Treasurer's report showed a balance-on-hand of $17,953.12.
A general discussion was held on the topic of committees, specifically the apparent dormancy of many standing
committees. Tom KB2GI is going to contact all committee chairmen to see if they desire to stay on and revive
their committees. A new Membership Chairman may be needed. Some concern was also raised that general
membership meetings are dragging on too long.
The new member package will be updated and a membership list added. New members will be called up at only
one meeting - if not there, the package will be mailed. Charlie K2PQD will be notified of new members ASAP
for updating the lists.

Old Business: The matter of the tower jacks was left on the table, as was the issue of storage space. Offers of
space by club members will be checked so as to avoid zoning problems.
New Business:
1. Chick WA2USI raised the idea of the club obtaining a trailer to be used for food-service at 'fests and
Field Days, possibly doing double duty as a communications trailer. The membership will be asked to
keep their eyes open.
2. Camden County RACES has advised their portable generator is no longer available for Field Day use by
GCARC. A free one may be available from the State. Chick WA2USI will investigate.
3. John K2JF wants to get 10 versions of each class of written exam from W5YI for use in VE testing -
cost is $29.95. We will procure and request reimbursement from Metroplex.
4. John K2JF will provide Chick WA2USI sample tests so Chic can judge what material his classes need to
cover.
5. John K2JF moved we spend $80.00 for 2,000 sheets of club letterhead paper and 2,000 club letterhead
envelopes. Seconded and approved.
6. John K2JF requested $3.75 for latest issue of FCC Part 97 to be used as part of VE activities. Approved.
7. John K2JF moved we subscribe to ARRL Letter at special rate of $19.95. Approved.
8. John K2JF advised that a letter and $40.00 check had been sent to ARRL so that GCARC would
continue to sponsor the World Phone Multi-Single award.
9. John K2JF is to check with Bill N2BK as to why we are not listed in World radio.

10. John K2JF will send letter on behalf of GCARC to FCC supporting PRB-1.
11. Chick WA2USI requested $25.00 for use in training activities. Approved.
12. John K2JF requested $25.00 for VE activities. Approved.
13. Harry WB2GSF raised the idea of each committee having its own budget. This was discussed and will
be held in abeyance until budget time.
14. Tony WA2FZB advised that we should determine meeting locations for rest of year. Also proposed a
semi-membership drive: sign up 10, get 1 year's dues free.
15. Spirited discussion held on club's purpose and direction and the desire and/or need for a clubhouse.
16. Harry WB2GSF suggested that the club purchase some gear to be used as loaners. The idea will be
presented to the general membership.
17. Harry WB2GSF requested a 3 month absence due to work (assigned to Maryland) Approved.
18. Some criticism from last general meeting was aired and discussed. One member apparently felt the
elections were "shaky" and wants a vote on Eugene Bond Jr WB2UVB being allowed to sell at the
meetings. No action taken.
19. Tom N2BPN will initiate a new "Meet & Greet" committee to welcome visitors and new members to
our meetings.
20. Harry WB2GSF is 1985 Hamfest Committee Chairman!!
21. Repeater: Autopatch is up only when a designated control operator is monitoring, due to recent
incidents. DF'ing and alternate patch arrangements were discussed.
22. The following bills were approved for payment:
a. Gloucester County College $170.90 (84 Hamfest)
b. NJ Bell $24.66
c. Get well card $1.24
23. The Monroe Township Municipal Utilities Authority has approved use of the Williamstown water tower
for a repeater site A letter of appreciation and small gift will go to Bill Datz's Father-in-law for the
antenna mounting brackets he made for us.
