GEOBOARDSBoards, 20 cm or 8" square (size canbe larger or smaller) with 25 nails ina 5 X 5 array. May be purchased orteacher made. (Use the geoboardpaper, Worksheet 17, as a modelfor hammering nails.) Quantityneeded: 16 or more.

GEOMETRIC SHAPES FOR THEOVERHEAD PROJECTOR

Cut from a plastic lid and coloredwith permanent marking pens. (Pat-tern on Worksheet 20.) Quantityneeded: 1 set.

EGG CARTON GRAPHING BOARDCut the lid off each Styrofoam eggcarton and rubber cement the bottomportion to a 10 cm X 29 cm or 4" X11W: cardboard rectangle. Quantityneeded: 10-12.

Allow the "tongue" to stickout and then tape it (from under-neath) to the box just below the bot-tom rectangle. Quantity needed: 1-3.

MAGIC BOX NUMBERSEight sets of cards, each set ofwhich must be easily told apart fromevery other set.Each set contains several cardswhich are red on one side andplain on the other. (Made by spraypainting one side of heavy tagboardwith red paint before cutting up thecards.) The number on the plain sideindicates the "in" and faces thechild when it is fed into the magicbox. The "out" number on the redside is the number that results whenthe rule for this particular set ofcards is applied to the number onthe plain side.
