ApplicationsCofraplus 60 profiled steel sheet is used for reinforced concrete inter-storey deck slabs, terraces, flat roofs including all kinds of constructions, whenever static load (office buildings, public utility facilities, high-rise facilities) or light dynamic load (multi-storey parking lots, wareho-use facilities with forklift trucks traffic etc.) occurs.

MaterialCofraplus 60 steel sheet is formed by use of constant profile technology from S350 GD flat steel compliant with PN-EN 10326:2006 standard, both sides galvanised with zinc weight of 275g/m2 (C1 and C2 corrodingmedium). The external part of the profiled steel sheet may be protected with additional organic coatings of ArcelorMittal Construction coating systems. .

Formwork At construction management stage the Cofraplusprofiled steel sheet serves as a non-demountabletableform attached to permanent joists and shoredif needed. The steel sheets are stitched lengthwise.Sheet lightness facilitates handling of large elements – mass per unit area of the steel sheet equals 8,53 kg/m2. The stay in place steel form must be continuous in spans and any breakage needs permanent joists.Due to transport capacities and handling on building sites the maximum lenght of separate steel sheet is 15 metres.

Steel reinforcement Due to its specific properties, mechanical constraintsbetween the steel sheet and concrete that occur as a result of friction forces andsurface notches, Cofraplus 60 when used, servesas mating (composite) steel sheet and completelyor partially replaces bottom span reinforcement ofconcrete floor slabs. The cross section of Cofraplus 60 steel sheet reinforcement equals from 10,29 cm2/mb to 17,57 cm2/mb, accordingly to feedstock thickness.Total thickness of reinforced concrete floor slab range is from 11 to 28 cm. When designing continuous reinforced concrete floor slabs it is necessary to add some reinforcement bars for the hogging moment.Due to concrete shrinkage it is recommended to useanti-shrinkage net with a cross section in both directions of 80 mm2 minimum.

Approval and StandardsThe requirements concerning flame resistance determine the structure of reinforced concrete slab with matingCofraplus 60 steel sheet, way of dimensioning it forassembly and functional phases as well as its designing on the basis of guidelines and methodology included in:PN EN 1994 – 1 – 1: 2008PN EN 1994 – 1 – 2: 2008PN EN 1993 – 1 – 3: 2008Bceause of flame resistance the parameters necessaryto specify delamination strenght as well as valuescharacteristic for designing the floor slab have beendetermined and verified at Building Research Instituteand are published in AT – 15 – 6138/2009 Technical Approval.

Load-bearing of the floor steel sheet has been determined for the assumed elastic load-bearing within the meaning of PN EN 1993 – 1 – 3. The load-bearing of single-span system has been determined for L/180 and L/250 permissible deflection. The width of intermediate support for multi-span system equals 100 mm.The table may be used for systems with shoring. It is possible for the systems with no assumed steel sheet shoring at assembly phase to enhance (on the basis of the analysis of ArcelorMittal Construction Poland Technical Department) the assembly range as a result of taking advantage of steel sheet load-bearing capabilities and plastification of the section while considering SGN for intermediate supports in multi-span systems.

Functional properties of composite floor slab

Minimum value of fire endurance of floor slab made from Cofraplus 60 steel sheet, non-isolated and 11 cm thick with no additional span reinforcement is REI 30. Minimum values of floor slab thickness that guarantee fire insulation are included in the table below. For classes higher than REI 30 the fire enduranceis achieved by way of appropriate designingof additional reinforcement, in compliance with D Annex

to PN EN 1994 – 1 – 2, and placed in particular coverin the folds of floor slab. Way of dimensioning andnecessary characteristic parametres are included inAT – 15 – 6138/2009. Please also contact Technical Department of ArcelorMittal.

Load-bearing of the floor and delamination factor

According to PN EN 1994 – 1 – 1 the load-bearing of floor slab with respect to delamination of the steel sheet is controlled on the grounds of two equivalent methods: m-k method or method of partial composition. Para-metres necessary to control this load-bearing capacity have been determined during laboratory endurance tests conducted at Building Research Institute with the use of

methodology compliant with Annex B.3. of PN – EN – 1994 – 1 -1.
