Designed to help any university — even those outside Coursera’s partner ecosystem — to use content on Coursera to deliver job-relevant, multi-disciplinary online learning to its learners.

Universities will have access to more than 3,600 high-quality courses to enhance their core curricula, offer credit-eligible* and supplemental learning to students, and deliver lifelong learning to their alumni, faculty, and staff. Faculty can use Coursera’s tools to author content, assessments, and hands-on projects. Educators can also improve learner outcomes by tracking skill mastery and growth using Coursera’s learning analytics.

These content blocks are intended to be credit granting components of full degrees.

University = Distribution Platform = ContentCoursera for Campus is an example of how MOOCs are pivoting on their position as an intermediary to commoditise content and turn the tail of the Higher Education market back into a distribution arm for higher quality/more sought after branded content.

With a mission of “democratising access to the best careers”, Whitehat aims to offer an alternative to traditional tertiary options by recruiting and training young people as apprentices for roles in companies including Facebook, Google, Warner Music and BP.

Whitehat – Reinventing Apprenticeships

WhiteHat’s approach consists of three main parts: a digital marketplace that matches candidates’ profiles with potential opportunities; access to coaching and educational resources; and a community similar to a university alumni network.

In 2019, WhiteHat doubled the number of apprentices on its scheme to 1,000 and received tens of thousands more applications within the same period. It aims to take on 10,000 apprentices by 2023 .

Guild's education platform allows employers to provide pathways back to study for their employees through tuition assistance programs. Guild partners with employers, universities employees to enable education completion. Guild has signed companies including Walmart, Taco Bell, Lowe's, Discover, Lyft and Disney — along with some 3 million workers.

Guild - ‘Education as a Benefit’

Guild’s model helps to solve a three sided problem.

Employers are seeking to retain and upskill their talent but managing thousands of staff members undertaking many different study options is impossible to track back to business needs.

Universities want to ensure their part time students are enrolled in the best program for their needs and successfully complete their study.

Employees want to upskill in areas that fit their career aspirations and want to complete their study programs.
