magazines and digital offerings in more than 20 countries, Gruner + Jahr is

In the rapidly growing digital market, the Hamburg publishing house’s

high-traffic online communities including CHEFKOCH and URBIA, and its

LIGATUS gives G+J a leading position in the European market for native

Olympia-Verlag currently has approximately 200 employees, almost
150 of whom are located in Nuremberg. The magazines published
include “KICKER-SPORTMAGAZIN" (twice weekly) and ALPIN
(monthly); along with special editions, some with high circulations. In
recent years online platforms were built for KICKER and ALPIN, all of
which received a great deal of attention. Olympia-Verlag was
established on November 1st 1946 as an individual enterprise, and has
been a GmbH since January 1st 1947. Today 100% of the business
shares belong to the Verlag Nürnberger Presse, Druckhaus Nürnberg
GmbH & Co. The first licensee was Dr. Joseph Drexel, who received
the American licence 181 on October 30th 1946 for the publishing of a
sports magazine. The licence was later extended to Dr. Friedebert
Becker.
