RECOGNITION OF SOURASHTRA LANGUAGE

The Petition initiated by KUSO for the Recognition of Sourashtra language as an INDEPENDENT language and its inclusion in the 8th Schedule of the Constitution of India was submi t ted persona l l y tothe Government of India Ministerfor Minority Affairs, Sri Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi at New Delhi bySri R.B.R. Ramasubramanian, General Secretary, Sourashtra Madhya Sabha andSri S.R. Anantharaman, General Secretary, The Sourashtra Educationists Confederation on behalf of their Organisations and the Karnataka United Sourashtra Organisation (KUSO) on 29th July, 2016. They also submitted the Petition to the Secretary at the Prime Ministers Office.
The Petition had been signed 'online' by more than one thousand (1000) Sourashtra Bhashabhimanis from all countries of the world and also 'offline' in registers by hundreds more. They also followed up their earlier Petition praying for extending the benefits provided to the Religious Minority students to our Sourashtra Linguistic Minority students. They met a number of Rajya Sabha members from Tamilnadu (Sri Navaneetha Krishnan,Sri Prabhakaran, Sri Nilagiri Gopalakrishnan and Smt. Vijila Satyanand) and officers in the concerned Departments like Human Resouce Development, to stress our demands. The Delhi Sourashtra Association Secretaries Sri Kishore Kumar and Sri Parliament Ganesh accompanied them. Smt. Vijila Satyanand, Rajya Sabha Member and Smt. B.R. Usha Joint Director of Press Report in the Parliament were very helpful.

We have been conducting Global Jadhaga Parivarthanai Mela from the year 2004 for the unification of Sourashtra people who are living scattered throughout Tamilnadu and other states. The response from the Sourashtra people is very much encouraging. We have so far conducted 23 Melas successfully. Parents from far away cities like Arni, Chennai, Coimbatore, Dindigul, Erode, Kumbakonam, Madurai, Nagarkoil, Palayamkottai, Paramakudi, Salem, Tanjore, Trichy, Walajapet, Thiruvanandapuram, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Thirupathi, Surat, Bhuvaneshwar, Shimoga, Mysore, Kolar and Mandya also from Foreign countries like America, Soudi, South Africa etc., have attended the above Melas along with their Sons and Daughters and benefitted.
All the parents are requested to attend the above Mela along with their children (to be married).
will be available there to see matching of horoscopes of boys and girls. We request you to attend the above Mela without fail and utilise the opportunity to settle Marriage Alliance of your sons / daughters.
An enrolment fee of (Renewal Fee Rs.250/- only) will be collected for registration of one horoscope. Please intimate one week in advance toSri T.S. This Mela, a get-together for a specific purpose, is a grand successful initiative taken by KUSO in Bangalore. It has good and vast response from Sourashtra people during the previous Melas.
