Dear Participants,

I am delighted to welcome you all to Liverpool to attend this year’s Global India Business Meeting, which the city is hosting as part of theinaugural International Festival for Business 2014.

The International Festival for Business 2014 is the largest globalconcentration of business events ever held in the UK, and to have theGlobal India Business Meeting taking place here in Liverpool, as a part of the Festival, presents a rare but fitting opportunity for us all to be part of this once in-a-generation business and cultural experience.

Liverpool has strong and long-standing links with India, and I am veryproud of the many Indian-owned companies that have chosen to make the city their home, with special mention going to the Tata Group’s JaguarLand Rover operation that makes such a valuable contribution to the localeconomy of Liverpool, and the Indsur Group who have recently established a HQ office operation here.

We now all live in a truly global economy, and the following few days willprovide a powerful platform for you, as international entrepreneurs, businessleaders and government officials, gathered here for this significant event, tohold valuable and engaging discussions to support economic growth in ourrespective cities, regions and countries.
