Introduction

• Global File Reader used to view all different types of documents as well as multimedia files

• Text documents include text, word, pdf, xml, excel files

• Multimedia files include images and music files

• Images: .jpg, .jpeg, .gif, .bmp, .png

• Music: .mp3

Current Scenario

• Need to install different application for different purposes

• Example:

PDF Adobe Reader

• Installation of different application consumes PC resources

• For Example: more hard disk space utilization

• Huge cost involved : cost for purchasing application

• Many windows opened in taskbar

Proposed Solution

• Developing a single application which would be the consolidation of all different application

• This application will open all types of file under it

• This includes all text documents like word, notepad, html, xml, excel file ; Images and music files

developed on .NET platform

• .NET platform is developed by Microsoft

• .NET is language independent platform

• It supports 4 native and 21 third part languages

• Native languages: C#, J#, VB, VC++
