GOSSIPS, by Mr. Sham Kamat

The objective of this session was to improve self and build a self confidence to create an inner value such that we achieve

success in the forthcoming placement drives and carve out a remarkable career. The Gossip Session started with the

question “How many of you want to be unsuccessful?” a strange but a right question. 99% of students want to be suc-

cessful but HOW? Can we be successful? What is path ? A thought process, a debate was conducted. We all dream about

successful life but only few achieve it because only getting a good job with high salary package cannot be called as suc-

cessful. Further “what is exactly successful in life?” This was the second question of Gossip Session. The third question of

the session was “How to market/sell ourselves?” Gossip was carried out with case-lets like of shopping a wrist watch. Fac-

tors we consider and that influence at the time of purchase of a wrist watch, color, design, price, brand, affordability,

quality, look etc are along the same analogy to which a recruiter resorts to when hiring the candidate/s as per require-

ment. Mr. Kamat highlighted on the three key aspects to be successful; Concentration: We all lack in concentration, a

small beep or vibration of our mobile phone diverts our mind. It is very important to be focused towards our goals so that

we can avoid all distractions. Research say that if we have command over concentration 50% of the success is won and

the rest 50% is of just overcoming of the other two powers.

Decision making: To become successful it is very important to

take a right decision on right time. For example: always moving

ahead is not necessary sometimes we should also step back-

ward so that we can take a long jump over our hurdles. So tak-

ing a right decision is very necessary.

Unselfishness: To be unselfish, this is very difficult for any indi-

vidual. We rarely find people who are unselfish and help others

to grow.
