A NOTE FROM THE PRINCIPAL Yesterday, Mr Lane attended the annual Probus Award Ceremony when students from a small number of
local schools are recognised for their special qualities such as diligence, compassion, care of others.
We were delighted to nominate Steven Bruerton and John Staines as our award winners this year.
Steven and John are both Year 12 students of whom we are very proud. They are fine young men who
work hard and always conduct themselves in a manner that makes us feel honoured to have them
represent the school.
Congratulations to Steven and John and their wonderful families.
Regards,
Gwenda Williamson

Dear families,
Last month, I included the following survey in our newsletter. We have had a small number of replies with some great
suggestions. We welcome your thoughts on the following two topics. Please feel free to make any suggestions or offer your

Therapy services can be provided by professionals such as Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologists,
Physiotherapists, Music therapists. The Department of Education and Communities does not provide
these services and ADHC and Area Health Services are changing. What strategies could we put in place
to continue to provide access to therapy services when students need these to access their learning at
school?
Each day, teachers are continually teaching and closely supervising children at Glenvale School except
when they are on their lunch and morning tea breaks and it is difficult to write anything except very brief
notes to parents. How can the school provide families with improved communication opportunities
between home and school and still provide this high level of support in the classroom?
