I welcome our new families and students to what we believe is a wonderful community centred school. I urge everyone to be as proactive as possible in the learning and activities available at Glenbrook School. A special welcome to new staff member Mrs Jude McCulloch but long time member of our community. Congratulations to Mrs Keown on the birth of her son, Kyan and who will be on maternity leave this year. Congratulations to Mrs Thompson, previously Miss Hubers who got married in the summer break. Congratulations to Miss Buchanan who is expecting her first child this year. These are exciting times for many of our staff this year. This year we have even higher aspirations and expectations from all our staff and students. We want to build on the excellent work and vision of our school. Our main focus continues to be collaboration and collective responsibility for all. As usual our school values of Whakawhanaungatanga, Ako, Mana and Manaakitanga will be prevalent in all that we do. Writing remains our key curriculum focus as our data and Kahui Ako informs us. We continue to deliver a balanced, holistic curriculum where all students are partners in learning and learning as an action is identified so that our students can realise their potential. You will have your own unique ID and password. This will give you access to our Parent Portal. You can find out more at https://vimeo.com/189242152

Concerns and Complaints Often unnecessary worry can be caused by unfounded rumour or misinterpretation. If the issue is whole school please come and see the Principal. If you ever have classroom concerns, please contact the classroom teacher in the first instance. If the matter is not resolved satisfactorily you should then contact:

● Mrs Jessica Simons our Deputy Principal [email protected] For special needs concerns please contact Mrs Hannah Thompson [email protected] our SENCO/ Learning Support Leader.

● The Principal, Miss Stuart [email protected]

● The Board of Trustees ….. IN THAT ORDER please.

Note: 1. Our school defines a concern as

something expressed verbally and a complaint as written. Anonymous complaints are ignored.

2. Parents are not allowed to address a

concern directly with a child.

Swimming Please put your child’s named togs, rash shirt and a towel in a waterproof bag in their school bag everyday. Classes will swim regularly while the pool remains warm.

No Hat, No Play: Children without a school sunhat will not be allowed to play outside beyond the sunshade for juniors or multi-purpose shed for seniors. School hats can be purchased from the office.

Please ensure your child has sunblock on before coming to school. Classes have sunblock that can be applied at school if needed.
