GLASGOW’S GAMEFOR SCIENCE…It’s the Year of Homecoming and a momentous time for Scotland. Glasgow is buzzing under the international spotlight as the city prepares to host the Commonwealth Games and offer its legendary hospitality to the world. With the Duke of Wellington’s party hat firmly in place, it’s sure to be a memorable summer!

As festival-fever grips the city, Glasgow Science Festival is set to bring its exciting mix of science and innovative events to its biggest ever audience. From 5-15th June, explore the frontiers of research through live comedy, film, exhibitions and hands-on activities. From the weans to your granny, there’s something to suit all ages and tastes.

While the sportsmen and women from around the globe gear up for the Games, we’ll be uncovering the science of sport through public debates (“Is elite sport good for you?”) and testing the limits of microbial “athletes” (“if Usain Bolt was a bacterium, which would he be?”). 

If your idea of sport is a few drams down the local, then be sure to attend “Know Your Whisky” for a delectable blend of uisge beatha and science. Follow it up with the “Hangover Hypothesis” and discover the best way to abate that sair heid.
