Project aim was to create a domestic applience design that ecourages users to grow herbs in an ideal setting.
January -June 2014
In collaboration with:
herbiegraduation project:domestic appliancedesign
Today’s new food trends focus on being healthy and more experimental in the kitchen by adding flavours, hence fresh herbs have become prevalent. Herbie offers a solution for the problems related with expensive supermarket herbs dying quickly and challenges of growing plants indoors. It can create ideal settings for herbsto thrive and be tasty, while simplify-ing their growth.
Herbie, with its six different cartridges involves the user in the plant growth from the seed stage. while the herbs benefit form Herbie’s different light adjustments, its water compartment smartly eliminates the need for the regular watering.

Herb cartridges includes the growth and value
information about herbs. Users buy these
cartridges and use them in the product.
Watering compartment makes watering easier and cleaner by its form and being above the herbs. Also, water reservoir
allows plants take water from it for weeks.
Users can adjust the colour of light by sliding their finger on touchpad. By tapping the interface they can control light
intensity.
Because of its round form,Herbie saves space. Reaching and picking up the herbs is easy that users can use fresh herbs
while preparing food.
Herbie is durable and easy to clean. The plastic watering compartment is handwashable, and the water reservoir part it
dishwasher safe.
By placing the cartridges into pots Herbie recognizes the time the user plant them, and activates water infuser. Then the led
light above that pot wil turn on automatically.

Different herbs thrive in different light spectrums and Herbie allows to make light adjustments according to herb’s specific
needs with a remote control.
When the water in container is about to run out, herbie starts giving voice warning for few seconds, and the water indicator
blinks till the user fills it.

Herbie’s interface shows water consumption, unless the user touch auto/manual button. Tapping once on it is manual mode which users can adjust light colors, while taping twice is the auto mode, which works with a timer and uses average
adjustments for herbs
Herbie gives feedback about plant growth. By knowing the lifecycle of herbs users can arrange
planting.

Pots & Cartridges
Herbie’s form allows water to reach to the herb pots regardless of the water level. In addition, it has a water container with dripper system slowing the water flow, and preventining possible rise in water pressure. With its infuser parts attached to the pots, it provides regular water intake.

SPHERAsmall electricalkitchen appliancedesign
Sphera -compact and practical food processor- has been designed to achieve maximum benefits via great user involve-ment. The main differentiator of Sphera is its spherical shape and axis free move-ment which help to process the food homogeneous and faster way. Sphera, with its three-in-one functionality is a real time saver.
I also observed that users are trying to solve the se p r oblems by shaking. They usually have to interfere t o process because sometimes only some parts offood chopped, smashed or food doesn’t mix well. Therefore, I proposed a design solution, a foodprocessor that allows users to be involved in action. With help of the users Sphera can rotate spherically, which enables all parts of food to reach the knife or other apparatus, This results in
homogenous food, efective and faster usage.
PROBLEM DEFINITION& IDEA GENERATION
After visiting a couple of kitchen and experiencing different kind of products, I conclude the main problems of food processors as ineffciency of chopping and blending actions which generally results in nonhomogeneous mixes and food
stucked on the edges of containers.

Sphera offers 3 types of apparatus for chopping, blendig & mixing. They are placed in the bowl, then the bowl is capped with the engine part. The engine works by pressing any of the speed buttons, and if the user doesn’t push the buttons. Sphera can be rotated on the base part easily. This would speed up the action. After using the food processor. It can be cleaned easiliy because both bowl and engine parts have smooth and spherical surfaces.

Proxima, is a backhoe loader cabininterior system, that adjusts along with the user’s needs. We want the users to interact with and understand the machine. Use multiple senses to increase control. We want to create a smooth workflow and not being disorientated by outside distrac-tions or movement inside the machine. Whether they've been operating the vehicle for years or for minutes, the operators must be able to understand and distinguish

A warm neutral colored interior gives the feelingof a less dusty environment, and enhances theoperator’s effciency.
Tactile materials with different colors are used todifferentiate the touchable parts and the others.
Different colours are used for interfaceelements, in accordance with their functions.

Project aim was to design playground equipment for outdoorfor 3-12 year old children.
September 2012-November 2012
In collaboration with:

EVOLVePLAYGRoundequipmentdesign
Evolve is a modular playground system that encourages children for physical, mental, and social activities by giving the freedom of creating their own world with their creatures. It contains non-fixed parts and children can combine, build and play with them. This design is suitible for restricted or private playgrounds, such as kindergartens, hospitals, children muse-ums...
Unlike traditional playgrounds EVOLVE consists of loose parts. There ara Cylinders as joints, and various geomatric shapes which have holes. This shapes can fit and be combined in many wats that allow the continiuation of child’s idea. As a connection children can use cylindirical joints.
While making objects and animals, EVOLVE helpskids to perform different kind of activities, such as sliding, rolling, climbing, cooperating, building etc..
SCENARIO
SCENARIO
There are ten different elements and three different size of cylinders in Evolve playground system. The shapes of the elements complete each other to the rectangular shape. This easies the storage and delivery of the product.

IDEATION& FINALIZATION
When we were deciding on structure, our aim was to find the optimum volume / surface area ratio, which should close to the typical dome structure. After deciding on the structure, we made several steel wire mock-ups to test it. Then we made1:1 nylon canvas mock-up to see it in real-world size and also detailing its ventila-tion by deciding on the position of the windows and door
