Girls Travel Assessments Check In: Players should arrive 15 minutes prior to assessment time to check in Current players should wear HYS practice jersey with number on the back New players can wear anything & will receive a numbered sticker to put on back Players should bring a properly inflated ball, water bottle and wear shin guards. Warm Up: 10 minutes 1. Dynamic Stretching: High knees, Butt kicks, Toy soldiers, RDLs, Skaters, Open gates, Close gates, Spiderman’s 2. Passing Lanes: Dribble at speed to end with soft hand off – both feet Dribble at speed and pass at hallway mark – both feet Skills Challenge: 30-40 minutes 1. Setup : split kids into 4 groups 1. Group #1 = 2. Group #2 = 3. Group #3 = 4. Group #4 = 2. Players will rotate through each station every 8-10 minutes: 30 Second Juggling Challenge – top # of juggles in 30 seconds 30 Second Dribbling Challenge – see next pages 30 Second Passing Challenge – see next pages 30 Second Shooting Challenge – see next pages 1v1 Progressive Competition: 20 minutes 1. Setup : Setup XX of channels Coaches pair up players to begin One player at each end with 1 ball per channel Each coach will monitor 2 channels 2. Description : Play : One-minute timer starts, and player serves the ball to the other player. The receiving player attacks with the objective of crossing the line at the defender's end. If the ball is out of bounds or the defender gains possession, play is reset with players switching roles. Progression : Players receive 1 point for successfully crossing the defender's end line (ball is under attacker's control/possession). The player with the most points moves "up". Ties can be split to at least provide a fresh match-up. Scrimmage: 30 minutes 1. Setup: 2- fields and split players into 4 teams as setup for skills challenge 2. Play: 2- 15 minutes halves, players may be moved between teams 3. Coaches: coaches will provide limited coaching
