Research Question Between adults\ students, which group react better in

challenging or complicated situations?

Research Prediction

I predict that the answer to my question will be exactly what I had in mind at the first time. “Between adults/children which group reacts better in challenging or difficult situations?”: by experience of my own, adults usually have more maturity and experience, so when they get to difficult situations where they have to solve it for their self, they get more facility to deal with everything especially psychologically talking. I think they can control more their feelings and emotions at the time they have to, so the situation has more chance to go right.

MY THEORY

The theory used on this Project states that adults have more maturity to act and react towards a difficult situation, since they have more experiences than children.

The current survey that will be presented today, contains information for us to understand that importance of always been clear in the way we express the informations to the reader.

Section 1 - Personality

KEY POINTS: Personality = behaviors, attitudes, feelings, and ways of thinkingPsychologist – people that study how others think, feel, and behave. The environment will influence on the personality of the person:• Family – experiences you has as a child, lessons about feelings, attitudes

and appropriate ways to behave from the families. All this process is called MODELING.

• Friends – people who are about the same age and share similar interests, have increasingly influence, which is called PEER GROUP.

• Culture – personality traits that might be valued in one culture may not be as well on other culture. When people from different cultures meet, such differences can lead to misunderstandings.

There is a very important phycologist that contributed to many advances on this area. He is called Erik Erikson and according to the theory he developed, personality develops throughout life as people meet a series of challenges.

Section 1 - Personality

Personality traits are influenced by a combination of heredity and environment.Talking about people´s personality, there are five central traits to describe how people behave, relate to the others, and react to change: Extroversion POSITIVE/ NEGATIVE Agreeableness POSITIVE Conscientiousness POSITIVE Emotional stability POSITIVE Openness to experiences POSITIVE

During our life, there are many emotional stages which we pass through. One ate childhood, the others as we are teen and adults, and the last but not least 3rd age.

Section 2 – Self-Esteem The term self-esteem refers to how much you respect

yourself and like yourself. It´s a continuum, ranging from high self-esteem to low self-esteem, in which high self-esteem has a positive effect on health, while low has a negative effect on health.

People have many ways to improve their self-esteem: Make a list of strengths and weakness Don´t be too hard on yourself Rely on yourself

Self-actualization ????

Section 2 – Self-Esteem

Generally what happens on adolescence, teens usually critique their own appearance, abilities, interests and even shortcomings, and are always comparing their selves to the best athletes, or most attractive celebrities, which results on a suffered self-esteem during that period of time.

The term means the process by which people achieve their full potential, and according to Maslow, to achieve that people must have their basic needs must be met (physical, to feel safe, to belong and for steam.)

Raising a bad self-esteem

Conclusion My original hypothesis was that if we take two people of different age groups,

over and younger than 18, to face and solve a challenging situations, people that are over 18 years old will for certain react better, know what to do and what not to do. This result is because people over 18 have passed through many more experience which someone that just started the life as an adult, so they will be the ones that have maturity enough to deal with a difficult or challenging situation. Even though the group of people younger than 18 will try and do their best to act as if they are capable to deal all that, their experience and self-mental preparation are not mature enough to pass through such a thing without any consequences in it personal life management. There were 19 people interviewed and divided on the two groups were 13 people over 18 years old and 16 people younger than 18 years old.
