For the last f ive years , GIK I has made the countr y proud in Shel l Eco-marathon by gain ing recogni t ion in d i f ferent domains per ta in ing to des ign, manufactur ing, and communicat ion. This year, Team Hammerhead Arc a ims to uphold the legacy of our predecessors .

Prev ious accompl ishments :

• Februar y 2014, Team Toyota Hammerhead Arc f in ished at 6th pos i t ion in batter y-e lectr ic categor y. Team impressed the Shel l As ia Manager and Pakis tan’s Ambassador to Phi l ippines v is i ted and commended team’s innovat ive creat ion.

• 2012 Malays ia , Team Hammerhead achieved record mi leage of 270km/l i ter, three t imes the mi leage received by any Pak is tani team before and won pra ise f rom Shel l super v isors for i ts aerodynamic des ign and l ight weight .

• 2010 & 2011 Malays ia , Team made a nat ional record of 90km/l i ter. Team Aqua I & I I qual i f ied for des ign and safety awards .

• 2009 Germany, Team Exodus (GIKI ) won an honorar y ment ion in the communicat ion and market ing award.

ABOUT SHELL ECO MARATHONAs mankind reaches a deadlock between shie ld ing nature and our own technologica l needs, someone must s t r ive to pave the way for a mutual ly benef ic ia l so lut ion. Shel l Eco-marathon provides an internat ional p lat form for p ioneers s t r iv ing for an answer for th is conundrum. Shel l Eco-marathon has set the benchmark for innovat ion in recent years galvaniz ing univers i ty s tudents to contest g lobal ly to make u l t ra-ef f ic ient vehic les . The event sparks debate about the future of mobi l i ty and inspires young engineers to push the boundar ies of fue l ef f ic iency for a br ight future.

Team HammerHead ARC

THE TEAMTeam HammerHead ARC is comprised of undergraduates from different faculties at GIKI. It is completely organised and run by student members with guidance from advisers only when required. Selected through a competitive induction process, each member brings a unique skill set to the team. All the project’s domains, from manufacturing the car to finances and from ensuring safety to participation in off-track awards, require serious commitment.

Team has access to facilities on campus which include dedicated lab area, machine workshop, and many types of specialized equipment.

ABOUT THE CARTo achieve this year ’s targets , the team wi l l be developing a number of innovat ive ideas which include:

+ Custom-made motor control ler l ink ing motors , brakes , and thrott le .+ Construct ion of new l ight-weight f iber-glass body to reduce weight .+ Redesign of chass is for weight reduct ion+ Implementat ion of an electronic system which includes dynamic data acquis i t ion, power management module, maximum powerpoint t racking module, inte l l igent batter y management system.+ New DC motor with highest torque per ampere character ist ic .+ Highest qual i ty L i th ium-ion batter y.

Al l of these developments require valuable t ime, labor, technical suppor t and funding, which can be achieved through forming a par tnership with Team HammerHead ARC.

The current main features of Team HammerHead ARC’s prototype car make i t poss ible for the team to give other teams a run for their money at Shel l Eco Marathon Asia 2015. These are as fol lows:
