    CCS Upgrade Landing Tests

The CCS Engineer performing the upgrade for your site will call the site with theauthorization to begin the landing tests. The CCS Engineer contact for this release is:

    Name: Cell phone:

Communication of any out of normal behaviour at any point during the test of theFSM should be reported to the Engineer Contact immediately!

There should be 1 FSM that is swept and cleared for the upgrade.

On this ML, run the following test:

The next test should be run on both FSMs at the site.

    Test #4

Sanity CheckALL TransportsConfirm every transport starts up and does not behave incorrectly.

The transport should be on and left in the same state it was when the operator left it. Start the transport and run about 200pieces of mail that is on the feeder or at the front of the machine. Please note, if there is no mail in the feeder and you run amaintenance test deck, please use the originating plant Testmail. Once the test has been completed, please confirm that allOriginating plant has been reverted back to the proper originating plant.

    Expected Results:

Transport looks like it is working properly (no error bells, stops)

Performance statistics on Transport show mail being read and sorted

Mail is being sorted, large amounts of mail is not being sorted to Reject stackers.

The next test should be run only at sites with an upgrade FSM. Remember FSM is VEScoded On-line only. If there is only one tester at the site, they must coordinate withthe CCS Engineer so that they can code remotely while the mail is being feed.

    Test #1

    CCS Warmup

    1) Logon to a Transport as Maintenance and set it up as follows:

    Originating Plant Select: Testmail

    Cancellers All ON

    Mode OCR_VES

Sort Plan National Sort Plan (411) or Test Plan 997

    2) Run about 400 pieces (1 lettertainer) of uncoded maintenance mail/or LVM and check OCR Read Rate.

    3) If OCR Read Rate is

If you have multiple FSMs at your site, please perform the Test #4 on all of the FSMs

Logon to a Transport (full size transport with a canceller installed) as Analyst and set it up as follows:

    Originating Plant TestMail

Canceller All ON (however many available)

    Mode OCR_VES

Sort Plan National Sort Plan (411 -- TBC)

    Test mail:

    1) 10 unreadable addresses numbered #1-10

    2) Feed these pieces in coordination with the VES coder as they may timeout if not coded in-line.

    3) Staff the VES desk (as this test needs to be on-line VES coded). You need 2 VCDs, one is on ROI mode and the otheron Outward. Select any Region in ROI mode and for Outward mode, code them online as follows:

    # Code as: Keys to Press:

    1 Postal Code: X1A 1J5 [X] [1] [A] [1] [J] [5]

    2 Postal Code: X1A 1J5 [X] [1] [A] [1] [J] [5]

    3 Postal Code: X1A 1J5 [X] [1] [A] [1] [J] [5]

    4 Postal Code: X1A 1J5 [X] [1] [A] [1] [J] [5]

    5 Postal Code: X1A 1J5 [X] [1] [A] [1] [J] [5]

    6 REJECT [TAB KEY]

    7 US 902 [SPACE BAR] [9] [0] [2]

    8 US 902 [SPACE BAR] [9] [0] [2]

    9 FRANCE [LEFT SHIFT KEY] [F] [R]

    10 GERMANY [LEFT SHIFT KEY] [D] [E]

    Expected Results:

All 10 pieces were presented to the desk for coding.

All 10 pieces were successfully coded.

All 10 pieces were sorted to the correct stackers (as per the sortplan).

    4) End the session on the transport. Sweep all runouts with a blinking light (if the runnout was already swept, pull out and

push in the bucket to clear the blinking light).

At the end of the tests, an email sent to the CCS Engineer Contact with the followinginformation You may cut and paste the following into an email:

Site:Start time of the tests:End time of the tests:FSM number that the tests were run on:VCD desks used:Group Assignment used?: Yes or no (pick one)

Test #1: Successful or Not Successful (pick one) Comments/Observations:Test #4: Successful or Not Successful (pick one) Comments/Observations:Test #5: Successful or Not Successful (pick one) Plan used:

Comments/Observations:All machines were reset to the originating plant.

Please confirm that all machines that used the originatingplant selected as TestMail is reverted back to the originaloriginating plant. Please include the confirmation in the emailsent.
