From Our President Celeste Jackson
BUSY BUSY BUSY – That is the only way I can describe our club this year. I am so proud of all the chairs and their committees this year. Y’all are really keeping us busy with multiple events and community service projects you have scheduled already. We are going to accomplish alot this year. I hope everyone is excited about the Purse Auction and new member social at Joyces this Tuesday, March 2nd. This sounds like a lot of fun. I can’t wait to see all the creative ways a purse can be gift wrapping. If you have not yet signed up to serve on two committees this year, please do so by e-mailing me at [email protected]. We recommend that all members have at least 1 club shirt. Please see Mary – she has both styles of shirts in stock in all sizes. And if your committee would like the members to bring items for a donation or basket, please let me know what month you will need them so we can set up a schedule. I’d like to see us have one cause per month. See you at Joyce’s for the Purse Auction, then Saturday, March 6th for our road cleanup, then Tuesday, March 9th for our monthly meeting, then Tuesday March 23rd at Becky’s for Pennies for Scholarships Can Decorating, and then…….
First Vice President Mary Ward Jupiter Tequesta Junior Woman’s Club is hosting our new Member Social on March 2, 2010 from 7:00PM to 9:00 PM at Joyce Ross’s home. We will share with potential members what our club does how our club benefits the local community. We currently have 50 members but are hoping to have about 70 by the end of the year. There will have lots of food, drinks and fun. There will be a silent auctioning of purses filled with items such as gift Certificate to restaurants, Spa packages, jewelry, movie concert or theater tickets. All items will be donated by our member and all proceed from the auction will go toward sending members of our club to the annual woman’s club convention in Orlando in April. Please come have a fun evening with us. Arts Mary Bergan The club has joined the Lighthouse Center for the Arts. Membership means a discount on art classes and gifts in the Art Store. The Youth Art Awards at the Lighthouse Center for the Arts judging will be done on Monday, May 3rd. The winner’s names will be decided by Tuesday. Award nights will be on Wednesday, May 5th and Thursday, May 6th. We will be asking all our club members to contribute cookies, cupcakes, fruit etc. for the award nights. Publix had a buy one and get one free on white grape juice and the manager has let me buy two cases 16 bottles so we are all set. We need ginger ale for the punch. I have napkins and cups from last year.
HOME LIFE Jeanne Takeda If you have any gently used clothing or food for
donation to the migrant workers, please contact me about getting them to me. The supplies at the Farm Workers Coalition have been severely depleted due to donations going to Haiti rather than to those in need close to home. PROGRAMS Kathleen Adamek The speaker at our next meeting will be Michelle Wartgow, a member of our Class of 2010. She will be talking about “What it is to be a Life Coach.”

Fundraising Ruth Dinzik Thank you for all your efforts regarding the JTJWC Murder Mystery Night scheduled for April 17th at the Lighthouse Center for the Arts. Randee Strassler has done a fabulous job of collecting donations exceeding $500 and Lisa Elbin has secured a donation from Carabbas of dinner for 120 guests consisting of Caesar Salad and Chicken Penne Pasta. Amazing job Randee & Lisa – Wow! Claire Percuoco-Portman, Mary Ward and Jupiter Christian School have graciously agreed to loan us the use of tablecloths, chargers and plates. Please continue your individual efforts to collect donations from your local establishments for our Silent Auction. In addition, tickets and flyers will be available soon and hope all members will try to sell tickets and gather donations for our club event. I’m open to ideas – [email protected] or 561-379-3338. Vicki and Yvonne are sharing beverage procurement responsibility at the upcoming Murder Mystery Night. They are asking that members bring a bottle of booze to the next meeting to get a jump start on building the "bar". After the initial donations, we'll have a better idea of how to supplement what is donated with what we will have to buy/solicit elsewhere. Please bring something you yourself would drink. Thanks for your support and cooperation.
