Elizabeth PitcairnShe performs in partnership with the legendary „Red Mendelssohn“, one of the violins of Antonio Stradivari, dated 1721, which features a unique red stripe on its top right side. It inspired Francois Girard to shoot the academy award winning movie “The Red Violin”. Formerly owned by the Mendelssohn family having Felix playing it.We’re proud she entrusts her Strad after a quick assessment to our IDEA Titanium.

Frank Peter ZimmermannAlso belongs to the inner circle of the most distinguished violin virtuosos of our time. He has performed with some of the world’s most outstanding orchestras. He frequently performs with the New York Philharmonics, the Boston Symphony orchestra, the Berlin Philharmoniker, the Orchestre National de France, the Wiener Philharmoniker and many more. His extraordinary abilities can be heard on many recordings. After a concert with the Bamberger Sinfoniker we had a very nice chat about his quite old JAEGER case.

It sparked the idea to customize a JAEGER especially for him.We were more than delighted to hear that Mr. Zimmermann was using a JAEGER case for years already, given his violin is the 1711 „Lady Inchiquin“ of Antonio Stradivari.

Even wood screws can be fixed in this dense and hard material. POLYFOAMHard Polystyrol material is injected into a firm mold. After curing the shell is reinforcerd with wooden inserts and frames at neuralgic spots.High torsional strength (with wood frame), extreme low weight, outstanding thermal insulation, good puncture and impact resistance

Dear Gewa, is a photo of my 44-year old Etui Gewa violin case, which I sadly am putting out with the trash today. You can see it is still in remarkably good condition, especially considering it carried my violin during my teenage years, and then spent the last 35 years with me in Juneau, Alaska.

I play with the Juneau Symphony, and for 35 years I have walked one kilometer each way to all rehearsals and concerts through some of the worse weather in North America. We have over 50 inches of rain each year, often with high winds, and several months of wet or cold snow. You can not imagine worse weather for a violin case, and yet for 35 years I have carried it through rain and sleet and snow and wind.

The zippers are still fully functional, the latch still closes, the inside is completely intact, and the velvet lining is unbroken and still plush. Indeed, there is really nothing wrong with it, but it looks a little worn around the edges, there is a rip in the fabric that covers the lock, and the zippers are a bit stiff. I was given a new case for Christmas, and so, with some reluctance, I am parting with my original Gewa.
