1. On the Nearpod Page, (np1.nearpod.com/home) to view or present a presentation- Click “Engage”. To edit or

2. To Create a presentation Click +New Presentation or click the Create icon at the top of the screen.

3. When you get to the Create screen you can choose to import an existing presentation or start from scratch. If you want to import something, you need to choose a file in a PowerPoint (.PPT) or PDF format.

4. Create a New Slide of Content or Activity by clicking the blue new slide icon or +Add.

5. Click one of these options for adding content. Note that the Web Content option is not available in the free version of Nearpod.

7. You can add an existing slide by dragging a file in the formats shown into the box or you can find a compatible file by clicking “Browse My Files”.

8. Add a custom slide and click the “text” option to add a slide in Nearpod that never existed before.

9. Add your Text and then click “save”.

10. Add Activity- These are the interactive Activity options that are added as a slide.

These are the options available in the “Add Activity” options. • Open Ended Questions

allow the user to enter answers in a text box.

• Quizzes allow the user to answer multiple questions.

• Draw it Questions allow the user to draw an answer. (note that the instructions can’t be a long sentence).

• The poll allows the user to choose one or more answers to one question.

11. Now that the slide has been saved, I can add more.

12. You can change the name of the presentation by clicking in this box and typing the new name.

13. Click Done if you’re finished.

14. In order to use it with the kids, you’ll need to publish the presentation. Click the file here. You can tell that it isn’t published because there is no blue “published” flag on the thumbnail.

13. Click “yes” to publish.

14. Click “Engage” to view the presentation and transmit it to student devices (computers, chromebooks, or iPads)

15. Once in the library, click the presentation as seen here.

16. Click “Live Session” to start the presentation for the students.

17. Here is the PIN. This is unique to each time you launch the presentation. Write it on the board, then click “Close”. Students will enter this in the “PIN” box in the iPad app or “join a session” on the website if using a computer or chromebook.

18. Students can view the first slide of the presentation after typing in the correct PIN. You can continue to view the PIN in the upper border of the presentation. The arrows change the slides- this will change them on the student devices.

19. If you want to leave the presentation click the arrow in the upper left corner of the screen, Click “yes” when you want to leave the presentation.
