This presentation will cover information about ePortfolios.

You will:• Learn what an electronic portfolio (ePortfolio) is;• Discuss how they will be used in this

course/department; • Share some of the benefits of digital vs. paper;• Talk about the “portfolio process” and what you can

put into your ePortfolio;• Learn about SF State’s new resource site:

http://eportfolio.sfsu.edu• Begin a dialogue and answer questions about creating

your own ePortfolio.

For many years…

• Universities have used paper-based portfolios to assess student work;

• Share work for accreditation/programreview;

• As a valuable tool for career connections.

What’s changed is that…

• Now, in an ePortfolio we can collect, select, build and publish our work using electronic technology as the container.

What is the process for creating an ePortfolio?

First it’s important to clarify the main purpose of your portfolio.Will your portfolio be used for:

•Course/department requirements •Graduation requirements•E Standards/competency compliance for certification•Employment & Showcasing of work• Professional Development or•All of the above?!
