How to Erect the Geteld

Setting up the main structure

Lay out yellow luminous cord in T pattern.

Assemble gold steel poles into goal post shape.

Position goal post spike at the T junction.

Lay out Bell end as per yellow cord. (Check fabric is right way round - large brown toggles are inside

tent.)

Peg out Bell end with three pegs at end of yellow cord.

Page 4: Geteld Instructions

4

Transfer yellow cord to opposite side of goal post.

Lay out other Bell end and peg out with three pegs. As above.

Put ‘Goalpost’ spikes through top eyelet on each Bell end. (Note - large brown toggles are inside tent)

Hoist the ‘goalpost’ into vertical position (find a friend for the other end!). Should be stable on its own.

Check tent is orientated in the direction you wish.

5

Unfold main tent fully. Silver tape is visible from the

inside. Eyelets will run down the same side as each

bell end.

Throw half the tent over the centre of the goalpost.

(Keep fabric away from spikes to avoid puncturing

fabric.)

Spread tent out across the goalpost and put BLACK

eyelet over spike at each end. (While you’re there –

pop the flag pipe over the spike )

Pull out back of main tent and peg in at corners next

to Bell end.

Make any adjustments to the shape of the tent, to

make sure you’re happy with it.

Fully peg out Bell ends.

Lacing Main Tent to Bell End

Take silver cord attached to bell end and thread through BOTH the

first eyelets of main tent and Bell end – 5cm below black eyelet at

top of tent.

Weave silver cord in and

out of main tent fabric

ONLY.

Take green ‘Bobbin’ cord

and loop around large

brown toggle inside top of

Bell end.

From inside of tent, take top most visible silver cord – form a simple loop and pass through Bell end

eyelet from outside to inside.

From above feed green ‘bobbin’ cord through this loop.

Repeat – working your way down the tent, until both sides are laced together.

Page 7: Geteld Instructions

7

Loosely tie off both cords at the bottom.

Start at the top and take out the slack from both cords – this should bring both fabrics securely together.

Tie off securely at the bottom. (TIP: If struggling to bring fabrics together at the bottom, re-peg and

adjust shape to suit. It may help to peg out main tent and Bell end corners with the same peg.)

Repeat lacing on the other bell end.

Fully peg out main tent at rear. Make any adjustments to overall shape – as required.

Putting up front awning

Assemble 2 x telescopic poles.

When all sections of poles are fully extended, black pen mark is at 2m. Approx minimum height for front

awning. Check all telescopic pole joints are twisted tight.

Put pole spike through each eyelet at the corners.

Take guy rope centre loop and place over spike covering fabric.

Repeat on other side (friend required).

Hoist awning up and adjust position of pole until awning tight.

Peg out guy lines to suit.

If required, add second set of telescopic poles to front awning – putting pole spike through eyelet and

using guy line to secure.

9

PARTY mode – with front and back awning up

No need to lace up tent. Put up rear awning in the same way as front.

TIP: If really windy – add extra guy lines to awnings and spike at bell ends.

Adding White Bell End Drapes

Sort drapes into pairs. Eyelets meet edge of Bell end, and pleated part of drape with elastic loop is at

the top. (TIP. Check male/female magnetic clasps fit together.)

Take one drape at a time - hook elastic loop at top of drape over large toggle at the top of the Bell end.

Slacken off the elastic threaded through Bell end with adjuster at the bottom of Bell end.

Start at the top, use toggle and loop at drape eyelets to attach to elastic ONLY running down Bell end.

Work your way down.

At the bottom – put loop of elastic on last eyelet round adjuster toggle on Bell end elastic.

Repeat for adjacent drape.

Page 10: Geteld Instructions

10

Connect drapes with magnetic clasps – hiding the pole inside the bell end.

Take up Bell end elastic slack with adjuster at the bottom. This should pull the drapes tight to the edge.

Repeat for other side of tent.

Taking down and storage tips

Take down in reverse order to putting up.

Best to remove drapes first!

Make sure drape toggles are securely connected to drape eyelets – otherwise they’ll get lost!

Coil up ropes inside Bell end and tie off – to save them getting in a tangle.

Poles go in one bag – fabric in the other. Folding up Bell End:
