When fishing at a remote tropical destination no failures are allowed. Our rod designers knew this, when we asked them to make a range of rods that will make even the best reels break, if the rods are pushed to the max! Westin 3776 popping, is designed for casting poppers and wrestling with rooster fish, GTs, cubera snappers and all other tough, tropical species.

The rod feature saltwater super grade EVA handles, Fuji DPS reel seat and Fuji SiC guides. As part of the Westin Gipsy Concept all rods are three piece models with maximum strength joints. Why getaway with us?Only the best destinationsWe only sell destinations that we would fish ourselves. We dont market lots of different lodges, operations and guides but only those we believe are the best in their category of fishing. If a fishery declines and we no longer feel the destination is good value for money we remove it from our program.

More than ten years of experience When we did the first trips with clients back in 2001 we already knew a whole lot about fishing and traveling. Since then we have added another decade of experience and some great partners and employees. We doubt you will find a more experienced team in Northern Europe when it comes to worldwide fishing travels.

Hosted trips Though we will be more than happy to arrange individual trips for our clients we have specialized in hosted trips. We work closely with a trusted that will try their very best to make everything run as smoothly as possible for our clients.

GetAway ToursIt all came from a pretty small idea to start with. But that little idea was the start of a great adventure!About ten years ago we ran a fishing magazine in Denmark. One of our staff writers came back from a successful trip to Egypts Lake Nasser The fishing was great and the whole package was even better it was a real adventure and great value for money. So we got this little idea: Why not try to do a readers trip?

We announced the first readers trip the following fall. It was fully booked in no time and we had to follow up with two more trips that season apparently our readers wanted to go fishing with us. And we sure wanted to go fishing with them. Not because we needed to arrange travel for a living we were already in business and had plenty to do with the fishing magazine but simply because it gave us great pleasure to do so.

A few seasons later we had more than a hundred clients in Egypt per season, and new destinations like British Columbia and Alaska were also catching on well.

Being dedicated fishermen ourselves, we have never tried anything else but giving sound and honest advice about the destinations we are offering. Combining that with attention to detail and respect for our clients hard earned spare time and money turned out to be a pretty good way to enter the fishing travel business.

So what started out as readers trips was suddenly growing bigger than the actual maga-zine. It was time to establish a full time fishing travel agency hence GetAway Tours was born.

Today we are Scandinavias biggest fishing travel company. We run our own fishing camps in Greenland and are the European agent for several fishing operations. It all came from a pretty small idea to start with. But that little idea was the start of a great adventure!

Egypts Lake Nasser. Where it all started but unfortunately now a thing of the past due to commercial netting.

WE LOVE POPPINGSo will you, most likely. Popper fishing or pop-ping as we like to call it is the fastest growing form of saltwater fishing. Here are seven good reasons that might help you understand why:

reason no. 1: The Method At the turn of the millennium most anglers still considered big game fishing for marlin the ultimate saltwater dream. If you want to catch the biggest fish (and dont mind that the crew is doing most of the actual fishing), sure but if you want to get the big-gest adrenaline kick and catch your fish the coolest possible way...then forget about big game fishing!

Instead grab a spinning rod (OK, make that a rather heavy one!), load the best fixed spool reel you can find with the strongest braided line you can cast, and throw a big, floating lure as far as you can. Now, pop it back towards the boat, making your lure create as much of sound and underwater distur-bance as possible, while you watch the big splashes of water on the surface.

Your eyes are glued to the popper as you work it on the surface. Your brake is so hard you cant pull off line with your bare hands. And while you wait for the bite your hopeful feelings are mixed with

the sweet fear that comes from knowing that any second, out of the deep blue, a big fish could attack and make everything go crazy...

reason no. 2: The BiteA lot can be said about the bite but no words, no pictures or no footage can do it full justice. When that fish explodes on your popper, making a splash that makes you wonder if something the size of a cow just fell from the sky and all that power runs straight through your braided line, bends your rod over and makes your muscles react on pure instinct...well, it has to be experienced to understand just how addictive it is.

reason no. 3: The Giant TrevallyThe giant trevally, or just GT among friends and fans, is where it all started. With the introduction of braided lines and big fixed spool reels with super drags these brutes could now be hooked and landed, even near reefs and rocks.

The GT has it all: It is extremely aggressive and very strong and as the predator it is, it rarely lets anything stupid enough to splash on the surface get away in one piece; least of all your popper.

Today, the GT is synonymous with popper fishing.

...it rarely lets any-thing stupid enough to splash on the surface get away in one piece

    Seven reasons whyThe Cubera

    The Giant Trevally

  • getawaytours.eu 7

WE LOVE POPPINGreason no. 4: The Cubera SnapperIf you think the GT is mean, meet Mr. Even Meaner! The cubera destroys

poppers, breaks lines and rods and runs straight toward the nearest rock when hooked. A cubera fight will be the tug-of-war of your life. Its often only a few minutes before the winner is found. In fact, if a big cubera gets the upper hand, it is probably just a matter of seconds.

reason no. 5: The RoosterfishIts not quite as aggressive as the GT or as mean as the cubera, but the roosterfish has something else. It has it. The X factor. The coolness. That magnificent dorsal fin that breaks the water when it follows the popper. The bercool black markings along its flanks. The rooster is The Duke of Popper Fishing. Go catch one.

reason no. 6: The AlternativePoppings sister method is jigging. Ver-tical jigging, speed jigging or whatever

you prefer to call it, fishing a metal jig on a short jigging rod with a high speed fixed spool reel is super effective

in deeper water, or when the fish are not coming to the surface. You can literally catch everything with these jigs; from GTs, yellowfin or dogtooth tunas to grou-pers, sharks and even marlin! Be ready for big surprises.

reason no. 7: The SurroundingsSure, we are there to catch fish, but take a look around you. Whether its the co-lour of the water, the beauty of the sandy white beaches and swaying palm trees, the breaking waves against islands full of nesting birds or dolphins, sea turtles or whales there is always something to please the eye when popping. We know its hard to take your eyes away from that splashing popper. We understand, but now and again you have to do it. Dont forget to appreciate that you are fishing some of the worlds most beautiful locations.

Dont forget to appreciate that you are fishing some of the worlds most beautiful locations.

You want to try popping and speed jig-ging, but dont want to spend a fortune on tackle for your first trip? No problem, we can help. On some destinations high quality rental tackle is available at a fair price and if not we have a limited number of top quality rods and reels ready for clients booking their first popper-trip with us. Just ask.

After working in Egypt for ten years, mainly with Nile perch fishing in Lake Nasser, Pascal Artieda took a break. He travelled to Panama for six months, looking for the

perfect loca-tion to set up his new fishing operation. In the small vil-lage of Pedasi he convinced a local fisher-

man to take him out for a day. Popping around Isla Iguana he hooked and landed a roosterfish of more than 40 kilos. Thats pretty much how and when he knew, he had found what he was looking for. And the rest is history

At GetAway Tours we knew of Pascals new ventures through our mutual Egyptian friend Negrashi, and we kept a close eye on things right from the start. Shortly after his lodge was finished, we formed a strong partner-ship and took over bookings for most of the European market. We also produced the DVD Panamaniacs, which was a huge success for us. Panama is, and proba-bly will be for a very long time, our best-selling saltwater destination. No other destination can match the mix of great fishing, great atmosphere, great operation and compared with similar products a reasonable price.

We look forward to let Pascal welcome you to the Tuna Coast.

Thats pretty much how and when he knew, he had found what he was looking for

    PANAMAThe Tuna Coast

  • SEASONS / FISH SPECIES The fishing along Panamas Tuna Coast offers great variation: Strong currents change from week to week and you never know what awaits you in the huge area we cover. The Tuna Coast is known for its world record size rooster fish, which can grow to more than 100 lbs. The vicious cubera snapper is also high on the areas most wanted list.

You can jig for lots of different species, including big amberjacks, groupers and all kinds of snappers, wear yourself out on yellowfin tuna or have fun with jack crevalle on lighter tackle. But for most clients these possibilities are merely welcome distractions between throwing poppers, both inshore and offshore, for big cuberas and even bigger roosters.

We fish the Tuna Coast all year, but most hosted trips are from early October until the end of June. Previously

we skipped February as it was regarded a rather windy month, but the last few seasons saw great weather and fishing throughout the entire month of February, so we are changing our opinion on that matter.

WHAT WE THINK If you appreciate hardcore popper fishing and speed jigging for some really powerful fish this is for you! Every week in Panama seems to be different from the last, and thats exactly what we love about the place; you never know what will happen on the water.

Accommodation is great; clean, air conditioned rooms, a small swimming pool and a chef preparing a three course meal what more do you need to relax after a hard days fishing at sea? The lodge caters to a maximum of nine anglers so this is also a great place for going fishing with a handful of good friends.

Ive fished a lot of far corners of the world in some pretty amazing places but no trip has ever been more memorable for me than this one.

Tuna on poppers, roosters right off the little beach, big cubera and many other game fish all within a mile or so of your Wild Coast outpost!

  • Wild Coast

    PANAMA

SEASONS / FISH SPECIES The season on the Wild Coast runs from December until the end of June. During this time the tall mountains are keeping the waters calm and flat.

Only a short distance from shore the water drops to a depth of several hundred meters. During the season the deep blue water holds huge schools of yellowfin tuna that can be caught on poppers or bait from kayaks (or fishing from the panga the local type of boat on our special trips).

Though offshore fishing is so accessible and productive, the inshore fishing on the Wild Coast is even better. Most common Pacific inshore species can be caught from kayak, panga or even directly from shore! Roosterfish, trevallies (beautiful bluefin trevally are found in huge numbers), jacks and snappers. Imagine hooking one of the crazy cubera snappers right off the rocks!

Of course, landing one will be a different matter.

WHAT WE THINK While the simpler setup with pangas, kayaks and shore fishing will obviously make the fishing a little less efficient than fishing from bigger boats, the feeling of true adventure is much greater. Imagine catching roosters right of the beach, battling tunas from a kayak (with the panga following you for maximum security) and living in the middle of a rainforest for a week.

The Wild Coast is one of the few true adventures left to explore, and we cant wait to do it with you.

    Panamas last true adventure

The area we call the Wild Coast is located where a national park meets a marine reserve. There is no commercial fishing and no roads. The only access is by boat, and its probably the last true virgin fishing spot in all of Panama.

When our partner Pascal Artieda discovered this magnificent place a few years ago, he thought long and hard about how to fish it. The potential was fantastic with great depths, blue water close to shore and tall mountains keeping the waters calm for long periods of the year. However, this very special, but small fishery, would not be able to sustain a full scale fishing operation with big boats and a high number of anglers.

Pascal made a responsible and wise decision, deciding that this little jungle gem would only be fished from kayaks and on a few special GetAway-trips per season a mix of kayak, shore and panga fishing. A true adventure is waiting for the six lucky anglers allowed per trip. Are you ready?

...its probably the last true virgin fishing spot in all of Panama

Popper fishing in the Maldives is not a new thing. We did it for the first time in 2008. Some did it before, and many more have done it since. Though we followed up with a couple of great group trips and though we loved the place for its sheer beauty and the

impressive variety of species the destination never really caught on for us. Prices increased to a level that didnt justify fishing from boats that were either limited in size, speed or both.

Enter Shin Achiwa, a Japanese businessman. After having a long break from fishing he tried popper fishing a couple of years ago and got hooked right away. Later, on a vacation to the Maldives, he fished for a few days and fell in love with the place and especially with its popper fishing!

Being the kind of guy that doesnt go for the second best, Shin realized after his first few trips that he had to solve the boating problem. Popping from one of the local dhonis wasnt optimal. Together with his new Maldivian friend Hameed (today his business partner) they started looking for a fast boat with a big casting deck. Within a month Hameed had found the perfect vessel: A 32 foot speedboat with 400HP.

The next step was starting a sport fishing operation, so they could employ the talented young captain Mohamed full time and take popper fishing in the Maldives to a new level.

At GetAway Tours we are proud to be partners for Northern Europe and we can now offer a variety of trips with this dedicated crew; from combined speedboat and dhoni live aboard expeditions to short three day trips for clients staying at resorts with their fami-lies. For the hard core popping enthusiast we offer longer tailor made trips to the atoll and accommodation of choice.

    THE MALDIVES

Shin realized after his first few trips that he had to solve the boating problem

  • SEASONS / FISH SPECIES Though most people prefer to visit the islands while it is cold and dark back home, the Maldives offers fantastic fishing year round. And though giant trevally is the species you would most likely target on a trip to the Maldives, numerous bonus catches red snapper, bluefin trevally and grouper, dog tooth tuna, napoleon fish, big barracudas and sharks are also a great and most welcome part of this fishery.

Popping along the reefs of the nearly 1,200 islands is usually so pro-ductive that most anglers dont find much reason to use other methods. You might even consider leaving your short jigging rod and heavy jigs at home. We are fishing from a fast speedboat (2 x 200HP) that can motor fast between the islands as well as the fishing spots and with an expe-rienced crew with a better knowledge of these spots than anyone else.

WHAT WE THINK The Maldives is a great choice if you want great popping for fish in the 5-40 kilo range in beautiful scenery. It is also the place where you can enjoy a tailor made trip with a few good friends, visiting the atolls that best suits your expectations. Maybe a ten day dream trip, maybe just a shorter five day trip or anything in between?

Accommodation can be a luxurious resort or a simple guest house or you can stay on a mother ship and fish your way from islands to islands. In short, almost anything is possible.

If you are ready for an adventure that is great value for money, we have high expectations for our GetAway-designed Maldives Special, where we combine effective boat fishing with awesome but obviously less efficient shore fishing.

SEASONS / FISH SPECIES In Kirinda, where the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal meet, there are two peak seasons that follow strong currents found in the area: November-December and March-April. Though dog tooth tunas, big groupers, black and blue marlin, sailfish and sharks are all found on the reefs and drop-offs on the southern coastline of Sri Lanka, this new hot spot is rapidly becoming known for huge GTs.

Trincomalee, in the east of Sri Lanka has three seasons: One running from Mid-April to the end of June, another during September and October and a third from Mid-January to early March. Species include the same as in Kirinda, but fishing in the area is still so new that some big surprises are probably waiting during coming seasons.

WHAT WE THINK Sri Lanka is probably one of the most exciting new popping and jigging

destinations we have seen emerging in a long time. In Kirinda the continental shelf is closer to shore than anywhere else in the world. When the two major ocean currents the southern and northern monsoon meet, ocean up-welling brings in plankton rich water and create a true Big Fish hot spot. You dont always find an abundance of fish here, but the size of the GTs can be almost scary. The biggest landed so far was 163 cm (fork length), and estimated at 70 kilo+. Kirinda is for the dedicated GT angler, who is not afraid to hook one of the really big guys.

In Trincomalee you can pop for GTs and other species, even right of the rocks of the private Sober Island where we stay. The island is run by the Sri Lanka navy, and the fishing totally virginal. This special destination probably still has to show its true potential, quite likely also as a jigging destination for really big fish of all kinds and as a productive billfish and tuna fishery.

The Trincomalee harbour is one of the deepest harbours in the world with depths of more than 1,000 meters, and the big canyon drop-offs have numerous sea mounts and pinnacles only waiting to be explored.

While Kirinda is a bit hard core, Trinco-malee is a destination for everyone.

    Two great adventures!

    ITINERARYSri Lanka

  • SRI LANKAOur partner Darran Davis was amongst the first to explore popping and jigging in the Andamans. In November, 2012 he was invited to fish Sri Lanka. A local fisherman was hooking big GTs, but couldnt land them. The first fish Darran hooked on his exploratory trip broke his 80 lbs braid. Then he stepped up to 130 lbs, which he has been using ever since, and landed GTs of 40, 30 and 28 kilos. On his first day, without knowing the wa-ter! He now rates a 50 kilo GT as a really nice fish from Kirinda, but he has personally seen a bigger fish than their current record fish of 163 cm. Of course, the majority of GTs around Kirinda are much smaller than these monsters, but there is always

the chance of hooking a really big fish off Kirinda.

While Darran and his partners developed their newfound hot spot, they got permission to fish another very interesting destination in Sri Lanka: Trincomalee. With Sober Island Resort run by the Sri Lanka navy as their base, they can now fish these waters for a variety of species. They are still investigating the full potential of Trincomalee, but finally understanding the current patterns and the upwelling in the area turned out the be the first major breakthrough.

...and landed GTs of 40, 30 and 28 kilos. On his first day,

    without knowing the water!

  • When Yves Fraisseix, our good friend in India, was scouting for the right destination to start a new fishing operation, the Laccadive Islands was just one of several possibilities. Then he started to ask around about the necessary permits to run a fishing operation on the islands. Most reactions were like You cant, Dont do it, Too complicated and Impossible and those were the more positive ones. In Yves own words, thats when I knew I had found the right

    place!

We all know that all things equal the lesser fishing

pressure, the better fishing. Here was a whole group of islands in the Indian Ocean that no one had ever fished! For Yves, all that was left was to make the impossible happen. He eventually did, and when all the red tape was finally cleared, and he got the permissions to bring foreign anglers to the Laccadives, it was just a matter of finding the right boats and someone to run them, right? Well, not really...

We wont go into detail about how the locals first thought, he was downright mad, when he returned fish (=food) to the sea and as a consequence refused to take him out again. Or how six different Indian authorities each need to approve a ten page form for every client. The thing is, when you throw your popper toward a reef that has probably never been fished before you dont care about all the obstacles that had to be cleared on the way. Yves took care of that, anyway.

  • THE LACCADIVE ISLANDSSEASONS / FISH SPECIES The season starts in November and runs until mid-April. Fishing conditions and results may naturally vary during the season, but there is no reason to believe that certain periods are better than others.

Realistic expectations travelling with us to the Lac-cadive Islands (Lakshadweep) are GTs from 10-40 kilo with the possibility of even bigger fish up to 50 kilo or more. Normally we also catch red snapper up to 8 kilo, grouper and on some trips numerous dog tooth tuna from 15-30 kilo. Furthermore there is always the chance of catching barracuda, shark, bluefin trevally and lots of other strong and exotic fish species. The joker of course being the incredible Napoleon fish. We normally catch several specimens on poppers throughout every week of the season. The biggest so far was 37 kilo!

WHAT WE THINK Let us start by emphasizing two things:1. The Laccadive Islands can be an incredible adventure!2. The Laccadive Islands are not for everyone! If you possess a strong adventurous spirit, you will view any unforeseen change in the program as a chal-lenge, and if spending a night (or two) on the deck of a primitive open boat, sailing to or from virgin and remote fishing spots, doesnt put you off the potential for awesome results is very real in the shape of some of

the best popper fishing around. Plenty of strong GTs on a good day spiced up with exciting by-catches. Even large fish can usually be played without too great a risk of snagging on the bottom making it possible for less experienced popper anglers to join the fun. Speed jigging around the islands is still being explored, but the potential is there especially for dog tooth tuna. In some places and on certain days popper fishing can be so good, it almost seems foolish to look for anything else.

A trip to the Laccadive Islands can be demanding, but also completely unforgettable. If you prefer a more tightly knit fishing program with culi-nary delights, a cold beer and a good bed we do have other destina-tions that are much better suited. But if you would rather take the rough with the smooth and have an opportunity for a real popper fishing adventure, then a trip to the Lakkadive Islands is just about the safest lottery ticket you can get.

    Oman Hallaniyat Islands

    OMAN

  • SEASONS / FISH SPECIES The season runs from mid-September to the end of April. December and especially January and February can offer good fishing, but these three months can also be a bit challenging, if conditions arent right.

Giant Trevally is the main target, but these rich waters have much more to offer: Amberjack, yellowfin tuna, groupers, snappers, sailfish, kingfish, wahoo, queenfish, cobia, dorado and many other species. Many of these fish will hit poppers, but jigging can also be very productive. With the big GT stealing the limelight, other species are often neglected, and there is still much left to explore.

WHAT WE THINK If you want the best chance of hooking a monster GT of 50-60 kilos or more, the Hallaniyat Islands is the place to go. At least as long as you understand that fishing for monsters is not always easy, and that hooking a huge GT is no guarantee of landing one. We dont recommend Oman as your very first popper destination, but if you have tried popper fishing before and feel ready to put your tackle, knots and skills to the test, then why not go for the really big one?

We also think that the GT sometimes gets a little too much attention. These waters have so much more to offer, so you should spend some time fishing for other species too. Shore fishing is being explored as well as fly fishing for milkfish and other species. Chances are that if you are reading this you might not care about neither fly fishing or milkfish. Its the big GTs and other brutes that get your juices flowing. Dont worry, we understand.

Home of the monstersThe Musandam in the north of Oman became well known for its GT fishing seven or eight years ago. The Musandam area is fairly small, and the amount of fishing pressure it can handle limited, but the initial impressive catches of big GTs showed some of Omans potential.

The fact that there was much more to come became clear, when the Hallaniyat Islands in Southern Oman was discovered a few years later. The islands rise up from depths of over

2,000 meters, and in the strong cur-rents running along the islands and the underwater mountains surrounding them monster GTs hunt at

the top of the food chain. For the last few years this mons-terGT hot spot has continuously made headlines that shake the popping world.

At GetAway Tours we followed the development of the fishery closely, but we couldnt get the right deal. Either we had to work with an operator on the mainland, meaning our clients would loose two-three hours fishing time per day, not to mention a really rough boat ride in case of wind or we could only get shoulder weeks at the prime GT camp located on the Hallaniyat Islands. The result was that we stayed out of Oman.

Good things come to those who wait, and eventually we got the right deal, whichallows us to offer top weeks at the best campat a very competitive price. Oman, here we come!

  • SEASONS / FISH SPECIES Sport fishing in the Red Sea is still a relatively new thing, and we all learn as we go along. Until recently we focused on trips from October until the end of March, but the last two seasons our partners in Egypt have made a lot of new discoveries that have changed our views on this destination completely. Now, the prime season is from late March until early June, where big fish migrate to certain areas in the Red Sea, close to the border between Egypt and Sudan. In order to preserve these special areas only a few long big fish expeditions are planned during those months.

The most coveted species is Giant Trevally (GT) and Dog Tooth Tuna. Other species include barracuda, bluefin trevally, big groupers, snappers and many other strong and exotic species.

WHAT WE THINK We dont really know what to think! We used to think of Egypt as a nice popperfishing destination for beginners with

medium sized fish, affordable prices and a relatively short distance from Europe. Since then we have been spammed with photos of big fish some v-e-r-y big! and realized that Egypt is no longer just another popper fishing destination, but possess the big fish potential we always hoped for.

We have now learned that a new fishery is not always fully understood in a season or two. Maybe we will have to revise our thoughts on the Red Sea again in the not too distant future, but for now we see it as a really excit-ing possibility for those who want to chase big GTs, doggies and other bonus catches without following the beaten path.

We have extended our trips from six to eight days of fishing giving us plenty of time to reach the most productive spots and target big fish. Sure, you can find cheaper trips to the Red Sea than our new set up. As always, you get what you pay for.

For almost ten years we ran Nile perch trips with our Egyptian friend Negrashi. Eventually, commercial fishermen discovered the value of the Nile perch, and in a few seasons one of the most amazing freshwater fisheries we have ever known, was a mere shadow of its former self. Sadly the fishing didnt last but our friendship with Negrashi did.

When he began exploring the Red Sea we joined him on several of his first trips there. We were sure the potential was fantastic, but eventually realized that there werent as many big fish around as we had hoped for. Still, it was good fun and nice fishing just not for record size fish. Or so we thought.

Dont make the mistake of thinking you have everything figured out about a fishery; especially not a huge, complex one like

the Red Sea. Surely, there is still a lot left to discover, but with some truly amazing catches during the last

two seasons the Red Sea must now be regarded as a true big fish destination.

  • A mix of warm currents, calm waters and an incredible amount of baitfish attracts thousands of sailfish to Kuala Rompin. There are those who claim that a sailfish was a rare sight in the area before the late nineties, when a strong El Nio episode pushed huge schools of sailfish into the area. Whether its true and the big fish liked what they saw so much, they decided to stay or whether nobody had discovered the sailfish fishery, we will never know. Never mind what we do know, is that Rompin now offers what is quite likely the most reliable fishing for sailfish anywhere in the world. Luckily, the Malaysian government has realized that this unique fishery must be protected. The fishing is strictly catch & release. No doubt this is what makes it possible to catch incredible numbers of fish season after season. We would be the first to claim that fishing is more than a numbers game. Unless numbers says it all. Thats pretty much the case for Rompin, where a weeks fishing for our different groups (three boats) during our first two seasons has produced between 160 and 199 sailfish landed! So, we have grown quite fond of saying; You do the math.

...fishing is more than a numbers game. Unless numbers says it all.

SEASONS / FISH SPECIES The concentration of sailfish outside Rompin on Malaysias east coast is enor-mous possibly without equal anywhere in the World today. Forget about trolling lures for hours on end with a few minutes of action now and then. In Malaysia we try to spot the fish before we start fishing and the fishing itself is always from a drifting boat. This makes it possible to use lighter tackle and thereby getting the biggest possible thrill of fighting these fast and furious fish.

The sailfish can be caught by throwing poppers or fishing live baits. Usually, both methods are covered by the anglers on the boat. Fly fishing for the sails is also possible but still less practiced.

As huge a concentration of sailfish near Rompin there is, as little should one expect a big fishery for other species. Marlin, barracuda and cobia, amongst others, can be caught but must be regarded as a bonus catch. The dominant species by far is the sailfish but quite often there is also good fishing for Spanish mackerel in good sizes.

Sailfish can be caught in Malaysia from April until the end of October. Our hosted trips are in September and October where the fishing is at its best.

WHAT WE THINK If you also think it sounds like pretty good fun catching several sailfish every single day on light tackle and from a drifting boat then Rompin is calling. We stay in simple but clean rooms with air conditioner and a private bathroom. There isnt much to do after fishing but who has energy left to do much more than enjoying a good meal and a cold beer at the local restaurant/bar/fish head meeting point?

Rompin has nothing to offer non-anglers so let them stay at home or meet them after your fishing trip when going back to Kuala Lumpur. The trip can easily be extended with one or several days in the capitol of Malaysia that offers plenty of sights worth seeing.

On the flyIf you want to fly fish for the sailfish, trolling no-hook teasers is by far the best method. That will make the fish become so aggressive that they can be teased all the way to the boat, where they will most often take the fly, when timing and presen-tation is correct. Hooking, fighting and landing them is another matter, but the number of shots at it you will be getting, will probably be higher than anywhere else in the world.

SEASONS / FISH SPECIES The great white sturgeon is swimming the waters of the Fraser system through-out the year. We tend to do group trips from late summer (September) to early fall (November) and our guides are so skilled in finding these river monsters that the sturgeon fishing usually swings from good to very, very good.

Out of the hundreds of clients we have had sturgeon fishing with us over the years there hasnt been a single one leaving Fraser Valley without having landed more than a few sturgeon. Our best week produced a staggering 800 sturgeon for 15 anglers (seven days of fishing) but about half of that figure would be more common on most weeks. In late summer and early fall we do some special sturgeon trips to seclu-ded parts of the upper river. We usually catch less fish per day up there but the average size is way bigger. We fish some special pools where the sturgeon grow bigger and meaner than elsewhere and we caught our biggest fish to date up there; 303 cm thats the length of your ten feet long fishing rod!

Salmon run these rivers from August to October and can be caught on lighter tackle for those who need a break from the really big guys. All five species of Pacific salmon is found in the Fraser system but the most common ones

to catch during sturgeon season is probably chum salmon followed by king salmon and coho!

WHAT WE THINK If you would like to catch a really big fish, probably bigger and even older than yourself, the best way to do so is fishing the Fraser with one of our guides. They are above the rest and will get you onto fish more often than anyone else. Fishing for sturgeon is big game fishing in freshwater these fish can weigh several hundred kilos (more than 500 lbs). The sturgeon is a strong fighter and will do long runs up and down the river and even jump free of the water! Unlike big game in saltwater, you dont have to endure hours of trolling, sometimes in rough seas to hook one, instead you are fishing from an anchored boat in beautiful surroundings.

The fishing is not too technical so even beginners will be catching fish but of course you must be able to pull for a while if you hook into a really big one. It usually takes from 20-45 minutes or more to subdue a big sturgeon of 6-7 feet in length.

Accommodation is comfortable (hotel) and all tackle is provided so the tug-of-war of your fishing life is only a phone call away.

  • SEASONS / FISH SPECIES Though there are five species of Pacific salmon running Alaskas pristine rivers two of those tend to steal the limelight. The first of those to enter the rivers is the chinook, or king salmon which grow BIG!

Later in the season anglers can look forward to fishing the smaller but more acrobatic coho, or silver salmon. Both species are great fun on spinning rod or fly rod.

For distractions you will find grayling, dolly varden and the magnificent wild rainbow trout. Some rivers in Alaska also hold steelhead but if thats what you are after you should probably look towards British Columbia instead.

Chinook season is from late June into July, while coho season from August into September.

WHAT WE THINK Alaska is always an adventure at least if you dont drive to your fishing spots with hordes of other anglers but fly out to the better and more secluded rivers. We mostly do rafting trips with small groups and that is just a great way to see Alaskas wildlife and hit a rivers best spots over a 10-day period.

At least if you are willing to paddle your own raft, raise your own tent and do the dishes now and then. A rafting trip is a team effort.

Alaska is one of the few destinations where spinning and fly fishing can be mixed within the same group without problems. There is plenty of water for everyone, and either method works well. Many guests actually switch between both methods the choice is yours.

  • Those are the kind of places we like to show you. Those places are the real Alaska.

In our opinion, a trip to Alaska shouldnt really be about luxury and comfort; its all about adventure, i.e.rafting long stretches on a clear river, watching wildlife and

catching the fish of your dreams in some of the most beautiful surroundings. We prefer longer trips, usually spending nine full days on the river, having plenty of time to fish and plenty of time to relax and take it all in.The great fishing in Alaska isnt the worlds best kept

secret. Every summer, thousands of anglers travel to the largest and least densely populated state in the US. Of course, there is plenty of room for everyone, but on some rivers its getting a bit crowded, and we are constantly doing our homework and evaluating every season.

A few years ago we started exploring new waters in the Bristol Bay area. We found some fantastic fishing that most importantly had not been found by many other anglers. Rivers, where you can fish all day, and often all week, without seeing other anglers apart from the five or six others in you group. Those are the kind of places we like to show you. Those places are the real Alaska.

GREENLANDGreenland is a very special place for us due to the fishing, the scenery, the air, wildlife, the people, the history and everything else that fascinates visitors coming to the worlds largest island. But more than anything else, because we have had the opportunity to explore rivers, which have probably never been fished with a fly rod, and subsequently then develop our programs and camps exactly as we wanted.

As long as we follow local rules and regulations, we can do it our way. For that reason our Greenland products are GetAways DNA in its purest form; the best possible fishing at the best possible price. The

only drawback being that there is really no one to blame, if it doesnt work out as planned. Well, we take our chances, and with hundreds of happy clients during the first seven seasons, we know we must be doing something right.

...our Greenland products are GetAway DNA in its purest form; the best possible fishing at a the best possible price.

  • GETTING THEREOur camps are located in the most awe-inspiring surroundings Greenland has to offer and in genuine wilderness. Access is correspondingly cumbersome. The boat will anchor as close as possible to the river mouth, and everything is then set in motion for

disembarking. This is done with a skiff that is towed behind the boat.

CHARACTERISTICS OF THE CAMPS At Camp Erfalik there is a small hut to rest in and for eating dinner, plus a primitive toilet shack. Guests sleep in their own tent and on a camp bed, but you must bring your own sleeping bag.

The camp is located by the river mouth, and a few hundred meters from camp the river runs through

a lake, where we have a boat anchored. The boat is used for group transport to the upper river in the mornings and evenings, but it is

also possible to walk up there at other times.

Furthermore, there are several good fishing spots near the lakes,

and it is also possible to walk to the neighbouring river with fan-tastic fishing in 1 to 2 hours.

At Camp North we are not allowed to set up a fixed camp, so we have a tent to stay in and for eating dinner together, as well as a toilet tent. Guests sleep in their own tent and on a sleeping mat (of best quality), but you must bring your own sleeping bag (and a small pillow, if you need this).

Camp North puts greater demands on physical condition and willingness to walk distances than Erfalik. Frequently, good fishing starts after a 40-45 minute hike upstream from the camp. If you want the full benefit of the area, you should at least - one or several times during the week - trek an additional hour or more up the tributary, which has quite a different character.

In addition we always try to have a boat ready in the lake, which is about an hours walk from camp, for easier access to the upper river, where the fishing also can be incredible.

In addition to our main programs at Camp Erfalik and Camp North, we have started this new program from 2015. The camp is a little rougher since we dont run it for the full season, but the river is a real gem. For that reason we only take up to six anglers in a group.

SEASONS / FISH SPECIES Greenland is a great place to go fly fishing but only in summer! The arctic char starts running the rivers in late June so our fishing season opens in early July. Its a rather short season, from early July til late August. Come September and the fish starts to prepare for spawning and is better left alone.

There is no other fish than the arctic char running the rivers in Greenland. Though you will find the species in most bigger rivers in Greenland, those rivers that offers great fly fishing for bigger chars of 2-5 kilos (5-11 lbs) or more are pretty few and far between.

As with other salmonoids we do some times see a tendency that the biggest fish enter the rivers as some of the first but we catch a pretty even number of big fish in every week throughout the season.

WHAT WE THINK If you appreciate clear water, strong fish, nice average size and number of fish caught,

Greenland is quite possibly the best fly fishing for salmonoids any where in the world. The fishing is mostly self guided for the simple reason that once your tour leader has give you directions on the fishing you dont really need the daily attention of a guide.

We think that there are few places in this world where you can be more at peace with yourself than when walking in a river valley in Greenland, fly rod in hand, with miles of river to yourself and just knowing that you will catch more than a few nice fish before the day is over.

A word of caution: Though we try to make your stay as pleasent at possible, accomoda-tion is very basic (you sleep in a small but personal tent) and you must be able to walk at least a few kilometers daily to get to the best pools. If that is not a problem, you are in for a real fly fishing adventure! And no you dont have to worry about polar bears. They live on the ice in the northern part of Greenland.

Occasionally people ask us, why we dont have Atlantic salmon fishing in our program. Dont we enjoy fishing for them the king of fishes?

Sure we do, there is nothing wrong with salmon. There is just too few of them, and on every occasion when we thought, we had found a good deal in either Iceland or on the Kola Peninsula we came back disappointedand disillusioned. Usually, the fish were either too small, too coloured or both to justify the price tag. Of course, we could book a prime week on the Yokanga or try to squeeze in on the Alta and expect good fishing for big fresh salmon...but paying more than 10,000 Euro for a weeks fishing? We dont think so.

Thats why we have fallen so much in love with fishing double handers in British Columbia instead of Norway, Iceland or Russia. We fish all the legendary steelhead rivers, from the mighty Skeena to Kalum and Copper or Bulk-ley, Babine and Kispiox. We even do week long trips to Bell Irving and the Nass River.

The steelhead is every bit as challenging as Atlantic salmon, and they often fight harder,

    too.

Talking about fish fights if thats your thing consider hooking into a big bright chinook. No wonder they call them king salmon, as these Pacific cousins grow bigger and fight harder than any Atlantic relative. We are talking 400 metres of backing, heavy rods and good nerves when you hook into a monster of 15-25 kilos or more.

No, we dont do Atlantic salmon. We do something that, in our humble opinion, is much better value for money.

SEASONS / FISH SPECIES If you dream about steelhead on the fly British Columbias best rivers is at the top of your list. The season is rather long from Mid-April to late October you can fish the spring, summer and autumn runs. Every part of the season is different and we are only running trips during what is statistically the best weeks.

We move a lot between rivers to seek out the best possible conditions on any given day. There is more to BC fly fishing than steelhead. Though a bit overlooked in BC, a chrome bright chinook, also known as king salmon, fresh from the sea is a powerhouse of a fish. Expect to see a lot of backing and loose a few fish for every fish you land if you go for those bruisers!

Season: April-October for steelhead, June-August for chinook.

WHAT WE THINK We honestly think that we are sitting on one of the best steelhead packages around! Look elsewhere if you go for fancy meals, expensive wines and classy five star lodges. But for hooking the most big steelhead for your money? Forget it, nothing else comes near!

The guys we work with in BC are just sharper, better, keener and meaner guides than anybody else we have ever seen working a river. And our setup costs much less than the average steelhead lodge.

Mind you, you do have to be able to cast a fly quite well and the guides will not hook up fish for you to play and get your hero shot. In fact, we pretty much expect you to work as hard on the fishing as our guides does. No problem? Then this is for you!

KOLAXDestinationOur partner Alexei, who was born and raised on the Kola Peninsula,

had a feeling the Sami people were sitting on some pretty good trout fishing. They were not overly communicative,

and if they ever talked fishing it was always pike, a local delicacy when dried, that interested them the most. When they occasionally touched on the subject of trout it was main-ly with frustra-tion. Sure,

    the trout were pretty big,

but they werent easy to catch on lures or using bait and using nets to catch them was too much trouble. Then it made more sense to fish for the tastier pike...

Alexei did a little more research, visited the area and discovered what is most likely the best browntrout fishing on all of the Kola Peninsula.

Permission to run a fishing camp in the area was very simple for him but would have been difficult for even the most wellheeled foreigner. He bought eight reindeer, and was thus a local reindeer farmer though not Kolas largest of its kind. Now he could nego-tiate with the Sami, who welcomed their new colleague, for disposal

over atiny insignificant area that happened to include some 6-7 kilometres of river. Alexei is now splitting his time between

reindeer farming and trout camp management. He is more successful with the latter.

  • SEASONS / FISH SPECIES When the long winter on the tundra finally recedes, big brown trout get busy gorging on huge insect hatches. The season extends from the beginning of June until early August, as trout eat hurriedly to cover their food intake for the entire year. During this time we can expect to catch trout regularly if not exclusively on dry flies.

The fishing is purely for brown trout, but few anglers will miss other species, as the average weight is at least three pounds and there are numerous trout well over four pounds. There are even quite a few six pound trout and over. In fact so many that we have never heard of similar good brown trout fishing in the northern hemisphere (well, actually not in the southern either, although there probably are some pretty fantastic places in New Zealand).

WHAT WE THINK Lets be real clear and concise on the fishing; we believe that our secret river on the Kola Peninsula is in a class of its own. If youre dreaming of very large wild brown trout and classic dry fly fishing in a river, it simply does not get any better than this. Not even nearly as good. Full stop.

Now, a fishing trip consists of other elements than fishing, and that is why there are a few facts you should know, before you book your dream trip (which can be sold out several seasons in advance):

This is unguided fishing. However, if you know how to fish for trout on the fly, we believe tips and advice from the tour leader or camp manager will suffice.

There are mosquitoes on the tundra. Some-times many sometimes enormous amounts. Fortunately mosquito nets and mosquito repellent have been invented, so it is really up to you whether this becomes a problem.

We camp in tents, and the last half of the up to 15 hour long journey from Kirkenes in Norway takes place in tracked vehicle crossing the tundra. It is cheaper than a helicopter, and we avoid delays due to fog or other weather conditions, but it is more strenuous.

If you understand and agree with the above, you are only a phone call away from some of the worlds very best brown trout fishing!

Monster brown trout on dry flies!

    NORTHWESTTerritories

  • SEASONS / FISH SPECIES In Canadas Northwest Territories we are probably fishing for the biggest arctic char anywhere huge fish that often weigh more than 6 or 7 kilos (15 lbs) and sometimes even go 10 kilo+ (22 lbs)! Combine their huge size with the sheer beauty of this fish and its raw fighting power and naturally the char is what

    this trip is mostly about.

However, there are other fish worth fishing for: Though it is called lake trout we do catch some in the river and they grow pretty big,

too. Do you need to wave a lighter stick for

a while the grayling are plentiful and not too hard to catch.

Season: A short window of a few weeks, starting in July and running into August.

WHAT WE THINK This will be the adventure of a life time for some but too

rough for others. It is a real wilderness with the challenges that goes along. We raft the river for eleven straight days, stay in small tents, and if it rains we get wet! There is one tour leader and the group is only six anglers in total and of you are man (or woman) enough to go on with this you are in for one hell of a trip!

Note: On this trip we do not mix spinning and fly fishing so it is fly fishing only unless you book a full group.

    Northwest Territories

Huge chars ran up from the cold

Arctic Ocean and hit their flies

For many years we knew only too well about the potential on a very special river in Canadas Northwest Territories. Close and trusted friends had fished it and were ecstatic about the fishing. Huge chars ran up from the cold Arctic

Ocean and hit their flies. What they found was probably the best

fishing anywhere in the world for sea run Arctic chars. There was only one problem: In order to get to the best part of the river for the big chars you had to paddle your canoe for a couple of weeks from the closest access point. Quite a killer if you dont have a lot of vacation time.

By a combination of hard work and sheer luck we found a partner at Great Bear Lake that could take us to the best part of the river by float plane.

We have had some amazing trips to this river since 2008. The trips are limited to six anglers, including our tour leader, and we only send one or two groups out per year. One year we couldnt even fill a group, so we

clearly dont run the trips to the Northwest Territories for pure business reasons. However, being a small company gives us the freedom to do a few crazy things, and closing down a truly great destination just because its a minor business venture, isnt our style at all...

SEASONS / FISH SPECIES When it is cold and dark in our neck of the woods, huge sea-run brown trout make their way up the rivers of Argentinas Tierra del Fuego. The season on the Rio Grande begins in January and ends early April arguably the best river in the world for sea-run brown trout. The most popular dates to go are from mid-January to mid-March right in the middle of the short Tierra del Fuego summer, and when the river is full of big sea-run browns.

The size of the rivers sea-run browns is simply mind blowing; trout average 10-14 pounds, and 20 pounders are caught every week, some weeks every day!

We fish what we believe is the finest part of this famous river and rotate anglers every day between numerous productive pools. The lodge runs what is indeed an eat, sleep and fish routine; an early morning session is followed by

a well-deserved lunch and rest at noon. The afternoon and evening session is then followed by a late dinner and a short nights sleep, before it all starts over again.

For many fly fishers this is regarded as the ultimate angling experience, and who are we to contest this?

WHAT WE THINK If you can handle a fly rod (preferably a double hander), some wind, a lot of huge sea-run browns and have the money this is an easy choice: Go! You will most likely experience some of the best fly fishing you have ever experienced.

Much has been said about the winds of Tierra del Fuego, but the river isnt super wide and for experienced casters it is rarely a problem. The fishing is usually a mix of dead drifting nymphs, swinging streamers and skating dries, when conditions are right.

    Mauritius, St. Brandons

SEASONS / FISH SPECIES The crossing with the 96 foot luxuriousmother ship from Mauritius to St. Brandons atoll is 24-28 hours so the season is when the sea is usually calm: October to December and again from April to June.

On arriving at St. Brandons no time is wasted as the guides put their vast Indian Ocean experience and planning into practice as you venture out to spend your days exploring the multitude of pure white sand flats and broken coral islands, all of which are infested with large naive bonefish. This could most certainly be the most spectacular bonefishing you will ever encounter. Over the past few seasons bonefish of up to 87 cm fork length and weighing 15 lbs have been landed.

Other species include the Indo-Pacific permit (St. Brandons probably has the most productive permit fishery on all of

the Indian Ocean) and Giant Trevally. The GT fishing can be quite varied. Some days you can see a fair number and at other times none at all. If you do hook one its probably B-I-G. For some reason there are more GTs over one meter than under here.

WHAT WE THINK If wading and sight casting to double digit bonefish, gloriously finicky Indo-Pacific permit and a host of trevally species on powder white sand flats in the Indian Ocean appeals to you then St. Brandons has it all.

There is only one small, tiny, little problem. Due to the logistics involved in getting there the price is...challenging. St. Brandons is the trip of a lifetime but you might need to save up a bit in advance.

SEASONS / FISH SPECIES Apart from the hurricane season from September and throughout October, Cuba is pretty much a year round fishery. The main species for visiting fly rodders are of course bonefish, tarpon and permit.

In Cuba you can find some of the worlds best flats fishing for the big three but not always in the same location. Depending on what you wish for the most bones, the biggest tarpon, the best shot at a Grand Slam or maybe just permit more than anything else, we will help you make the right decision.

Bonus catches include really nice mut-ton snappers, jacks, sharks, barracuda or maybe even a snook to complete your Super Grand Slam.

WHAT WE THINK Well, we think that Cuba can be a truly great place to fly fish in saltwater but

often quite expensive at the best loca-tions (and we wouldnt bother with the less attractive areas which are not even protected from commercial netting).

Every year we try to get a few weeks at the top spots but with prices at a more reasonable level. We dont always succeed and when we do the trips often sell out fast so contact us if you would like to be notified on upcoming Cuba-trips.

    Cuba

When the Cuban Revolution ended on the first day of 1959 the tourists celebrating the New Year didnt stay for a few days fishing but fled the country instead. Since then 11 million Cubans has been wrapped in some sort of a time bubble and though lighter winds of change might have started to blow recently, Cuba is still a special place to visit. The old historic buildings in Havana, many fallen in ruin and some being restored, the American cars from the fifties that are still in use and the friendly Cuban people that are longing for a change as some say smiling on the outside but crying on the inside.

The fishing in Cuba is also unlike anything else. Along the most of the main islands coastline, inshore species has been netted and the fishing is pretty bad. The direct

opposite is the protected marine sanctuaries rather efficiently, we might add against any commer-cial fishing. These are the areas, where fishing operations are given permission to operate meaning that Cuba is one of the few places in the world, where there is private fishing in saltwater.

You can try to imagine how great fishing in saltwater would be, if there were no nets and almost no fishing pressure. Or you can travel with us to Cuba and see for yourself.

    BAHAMAS

SEASONS / FISH SPECIES Acklins Island is the most southern island in the Bahamas, and therefore the least affected by cold fronts during the winter months. Good bonefish fishing can be had year round, so we usually plan our trips from November to February; the nicest time to get away from Northern Europe.

We travel to Acklins for one major reason: bonefish. That shouldnt keep anyone from having a lot of fun with bar-racudas, sharks or jacks occasionally we even get a shot at permit or tarpon, but the bonefish is what we pursue 95% of the time.

WHAT WE THINK We think the flight from Europe to Acklins Island is really expensive (you could fly cheaper all the way to Aus-tralia!). When you add that to the partly self-guided fishing package the total price is the same as a fully guided week elsewhere. So why bother?

Because Acklins Island has more great bonefish habitats than anywhere else we have fished. The bones arent bigger than elsewhere (luckily they arent smarter, either), but they feed on the most perfect bonefish flats you could ever dream about. Tailing fish in ankle deep water, on white sand flats and in mangroves and most importantly, you can wade and stalk them yourself. Bonefishing doesnt get any better than that.

Over the years we have found other pretty good bonefish destinations, but we still fill our trips to Acklins. Its classic bonefishing.

SEASONS / FISH SPECIES You can fish Belize any month of the year. However, we try to pick the months that are usually best when combining stable weather with few anglers on the flats. Belize offers good fly fishing for both bonefish, tarpon and permit with bonus shots at barracuda and the hard fighting jack crevalle. The bonefish are not big usually up to 0,5-1,5 kilos (1-3 lbs) but the are pretty easy and even beginners in saltwater will enjoy some success.

The permit are as difficult as every where else but often we see good numbers of fish and big ones, too. Tarpon are probably the main attraction in the area of Belize that we fish. Unless you specifically target baby tarpon, they have a really nice average size. Most fish we hook are in the 20-45 kilos (45-100 lbs) region. On a fly rod that is plenty to keep you busy for a while!

WHAT WE THINK Belize is a great choice for fly fishing in saltwater and at a reasonable price. It might be the right destination if you think you are ready for big tarpon on the fly but would like other options to fall back on when you find out that hooking and landing tarpon is not always that easy.

Instead of being confined to a fishing lodge we prefer to stay in a cozy little town off the

coast, visiting different restaurants every night and soaking in some local culture.

Our local guides have become personal friends over the years and having a great time with them is an added bonus.

    Farquhar

SEASONS / FISH SPECIES The season runs from early October to late December and again from late February to early May. These are peak periods as January is usually rainy and from mid-May to October the strong south-eastern monsoon blows incessantly.

The species found at Farquhar is a dream-like mix of bonefish, giant trevally, Indo-Pacific permit, triggerfish, bumphead parrotfish, milkfish, bar-racuda, bluefin trevally, sailfish, yellowfin tuna, dogtooth tuna and Wahoo just to mention a few!

WHAT WE THINK In six words: If You Can Afford It Go!

You will be fishing some of the finest and most productive flats in the Indian Ocean. These flats consist of hard white sand, turtle grass and broken coral and you can sight-fish to big bonefish, trophy sized GT, permit and not least the bumphead parrotfish again, just to mention a few of the opportunities.

Deep water begins very close to shore and fly fishing from the 17 foot skiffs can give you shots a huge GT, dogtooth tuna, wahoo, grouper, sailfish, snapper and yellowfin tuna. Start saving up and plan the saltwater trip of alifetime. Though your banker might advise against it, we are pretty sure that it will be something you will never regret, but instead remember for the rest of your life.

    SEYCHELLESTHE

FarquharAfter the great saltwater fishing on Alphonse Island near the main island of Mahe was discovered in the late nineties, the outer atolls soon followed suit with reports of even better fishing. Cosmoledo, Farquhar and Providence all became true dream destinations. This all changed in 2009, when the mother ship Indian Ocean Explorer was hijacked by Somali pirates on the way back from Cosmoledo to Mahe. For obvious security reasons the Seychelles government immediately banned all mother ship operations.

A few years later a fishing operation was established at Farquhar Atoll, utilizing the facilities owned by the Island Conservation Society. Farquhar is the most southerly atoll in the Seychelles, 700 km southwest of Mahe, and its secure land based fishing program has since offered what we believe is the best saltwater fly fishing in the Seychelles.

The guides are in the same class as the fishing, and will work hard to help you hook the fish of your dreams. Though a Farquhar trip is certainly very expensive, we claim it is good value for money. Why? Because it is no more than twice as expensive as a normal

saltwater trip. And in all honesty, we would happily trade two of those trips for one week at Farquhar Atoll!

FISH, PLAY AND EXPERIENCE THE WATERS LIKE NEVER BEFORE WITH THE ALL-NEW AND SLEEK 622 SPF.

The all-new Anytec 622 SPF is finally here and ready for action. The 622 SPF combines a proven hull concept with the kind of features that most anglers have had to create on their own in the past. Years and years of home-made fishing decks, rod holders that barely stay on and ingenious but rough modifications finally theres a real alternative.

The 622 SPF is perfect for when you have the need for speed but dont want to sacrifice space, comfort or fishability. The hull has already proven its construction in the waters of Scandinavia and Svalbard in the far north. Some owners are even known to let the boats stay in the water during the freezing winter months that in some places go as low as -40 Celsius, something thats only made possible by the boats all-welded construction.

The entire bow deck has been raised up with large draining stowage spaces to form a spacious fishing deck, perfect for all your gear and plenty of room to spare for the days catch. For longer trips the large aft livewell keeps every catch fresh.

Ample storage space is spread throughout the boat with special fittings in the comfortable sofa for tackle storage systems.

While we believe that the 622 SPF will hit the sweet spot for most anglers out there, we also offer SPF-versions of our nimble 530- and incredibly powerful 750-series. Contact your local dealership for more information.
