Turboexpander withOil Bearings

This bearing design provides increased wear allowance in comparison to conventional tilting pad bearings. The precision manufacturing tolerances of L.A. Turbine’s bearings maintain shaft alignment and protect the seals more effectively than conventional tilting pad bearings.

L.A. Turbine bearings are constructed from bronze and are Babbitt metal lined. The advantages of this lining are that it is self-repairing (after minor upsets) and that it cannot adhere to or damage the shaft. Should bearing service be required, the bearing lining can be replaced rather than replacing the entire bearing.
