In August Washington established a naval army to battle the British off the coast of New England

Washington left Cambridge, Massachusetts with his army for New York

His New York safety report, included that they were still supplying British ships

The British forces including General William Howe, stayed concentrated on Staten IslandAttacked Long Island

Washington’s attempts to fight Howe failed.

The Revolutionary WarThe British army attacked and caused the

retreat of Washington and his army off the Manhattan island

Washington was pushed backed by the British army all the way to the western side of the DelawareHe lead a surprise attack against the British

army encamped in Trenton, New JerseyThis was the famous crossing of the Delaware,

and lead to a victory for Washington.This lead to a long but victorious campaign.

Between 1783 and 1786 George Washington fell laid low
