PLATE DROP PROJECT

IDEA GENERATION

My first idea was to create interlocking slats that are flatpacked and create a cushion underneath the plate in case of dropping

I then came across the idea that I could create wall brackets to act as holders for the plate to keep it above the floor and beneath the ceiling in case dropped there would be no direct impact with the plate, but just the cardboard

PLATE DROP PROJECT

CONCEPT CREATION

The journey from sketches to concepts caused me to create various concept models for the final product, which would test the durability of the product and its ability to withstand being dropped

PET CEMETRY PROJECT

The Viking’s of Scandanavia used to celebrate a soldiers life by putting them on a Dragon Shaped Longboat and pushing them out to sea, once set alight. I have used their ritual as inspiration for my coffin design for a fish, which can be placed under the lift up flap and floated out onto a lake, river or the sea.

The use of colour in lighting can create various atmospheres and can be used for almost any situation

Being able to control the colour of the lighting can allow the user to experience the atmosphers that they wish

Ideal for a modern home situation, could be used for family and social occasions. You choose!

The use of Maglev (magnetic levitation) technology could enhance the aestetic of the product and the use of a table as its base to centre the room

GROW PROJECT

Having looked at various images of boys bedrooms I discovered that the majority of them have a very modern style, with various block colour schemes, so I knew instantly the style of what I wanted to create

I visited John Lewis and looked at various cot and bed styles and sizes, and did some inital idea sketches

GROW PROJECTThe product consists of these stages:

A cot

A bed

And a desk

The sides of the cot are re-movable which exposes the storage container for easy access

The storage container can then be removed and a full size single bed is displayed

The bed frame can then be turned over to expose a large desk
