Generation 3. Driven by your needs.
2Generation 3 Nomenclature
A new generation of tyres. Designed to meet your needs.Rapidly evolving within the tyre market.
In 2008, Continental launched Generation 2 – a tyre
range that focused mainly on the Goods segment.
Since then, Continental has continued to challenge
itself, thus rapidly and successfully expanding its
focus and expertise. Our highly skilled engineers,
driven by their passion and desire to shape the
future, have achieved an incredibly strong product
line within all three segments – Goods, People and
Construction – with each segment being made up
of several different tyre applications.

Redefining the tyre market – Generation 3.
Continental’s new Generation 3 represents a milestone in the premium
segment of commercial vehicle tyres. Continuing the legacy of its
second generation tyres, Continental is redefining the tyre market
with their customer-oriented problem-solving approach. The aim of
Generation 3 is to provide a tyre range perfectly tuned to customers’
applications. In doing so, our engineers have focused on specific
benefits tailored to the particular segment – such as fuel efficiency,
mileage, safety, comfort, and durability.
Within the People segment, for instance, Continental has gone the extra
mile by developing tailored applications that provide undeniable safety
for each type of transportation. One such example is the Conti Coach,
which leads the tyre market with an “A” grade in wet braking on the EU
tyre label.
Continental’s strategic Generation 3 tyre launch spans the next four
years, each year with a different focus:

4Generation 3 Nomenclature
A brand new naming fitting a pioneering tyre generation.
Due to the expansion of the range to meet specific customer requirements, Continental’s new product line was in need of a new naming to fully reflect its extensive benefits.
1. Development of products that meet specific customer needs
reflected in the naming.
The new Generation 3 has the right tyre for all of our customers’
needs. Be it within the Goods, People or Construction segment, our
customers’ demands are very specific and the new Continental tyre
naming definitely delivers.
2. Benefit and application clarity through a clear naming.
The particular benefits and applications of a tyre line are clear to the
customer immediately. The new names reflect the particular features
of the tyres (e. g. Conti Hybrid – optimised for both motorways and re-
gional roads) and their specific application benefits (e. g. Conti CityPlus
– developed individually for the inter city application).
3. Consistent usage of the naming across the globe and within the
corporation.
The new names create a global approach – each name stands for the
same tyre in all regions across the globe. In addition, the new names
follow a similar approach to the naming used for passenger and light
truck tyres.
Generation 3 therefore creates greater consistency for the customer.
