in the Austin Metro Area are not engaged in either school or a job.

EXPAND THE GOODWILL CAREER & TECHNICAL ACADEMY: A center for cost-free career education, training, and job placement that meets the significant needs of local employers in high-demand occupations, and provides opportunities for families to break the cycle of poverty.
THE Solution
CAMPAIGN GOAL: $5,900,000

The vocational training and career certifications offered through the Goodwill Career and Technical Academy (GTCA) are life-changing. They provide a platform for low-income, undereducated and underemployed people in our community to gain skills in high-demand, high-growth industries such as technology and healthcare. Many high paying jobs in rapidly growing industries do not require two or four-year degrees. Instead, they require specialized
skills and know-how gained through specific training and credentialing programs. These programs are the key to unlocking opportunity for low-skilled employees, while simultaneously meeting the labor shortage that forces Texas businesses to import talent and export low-skill jobs. Goodwill is relentlessly focused on creating opportunities that ensure Texans keep pace and flourish in the labor force.
The Goodwill Career & Technical Academy
