What is Pop-Machina?

Pop-Machina is a 4-year project funded under the European Union’s Horizon 2020 R&I programme andfocuses on demonstrating the potential of collaborative production for the EU circular economy through thecreation of makerspaces and the empowerment of maker communities

Pop-Machina aims to…

1 Mobilise citizens under the banner of circulareconomy and collaborative production.
2 Analyse the social and spatial urbanenvironments and re-activate underused orabandoned spaces.
3 Empower maker communities giving them theright tools, skills and business supportservices to design, manufacture and sharecircular solutions.
4 Enhance the capabilities of collaborativeproduction, blending Industry 4.0technologies with FoF, blockchain,cryptography and behavioural insights.
5 Contribute to the development of anintegrated monitoring and assessmentframework regarding the impacts of urbanmaker ecosystems.
6 Use the evidence generated through seven pilotsto foster a frank policy dialogue on collaborativeproduction.
7 Support the implementation of EU CircularEconomy Action Plan by contributing to thegrowth of maker ecosystems and the productionof circular innovations in European cities.
