    ThefollowingdietandhealthprogramwasdevelopedforemployeesanddependentsofGeneralMotors,Inc.andisintendedfortheirexclusiveuse.ThisprogramwasdevelopedinconjunctionwithagrantfromU.S.DepartmentofAgricultureandtheFoodandDrugAdministration.ItwasfieldtestedattheJohnsHopkinsResearchCentreandwasapprovedfordistributionbytheBoardofDirectors,GeneralMotorsCorp.atageneralmeetingonAugust15,1985.GeneralMotorsCorp.whollyendorsesthisprogramandismakingitavailabletoallemployeesandfamilies.ThisprogramwillbeavailableatallGeneralMotorsFoodServiceFacilities.Itismanagement'sintentiontofacilitateawellnessandfitnessprogramforeveryone.

    Thisprogramisdesignedforatargetweightlossof1017lbsperweek.Itwillalsoimproveyourattitudesandemotionsbecauseofitscleansingsystematiceffects.

    Theeffectivenessofthissevendayplanisthatthefoodeatenburnmorecaloriesthantheygivetothebodyincaloricvalue.

    Thisplancanbeusedasoftenasyoulikewithoutanyfearofcomplications.Itisdesignedtoflushyoursystemofimpuritiesandgiveyouafeelingofwellbeing.Aftersevendaysyouwillbegintofeellighterbecauseyouwillbelighterbyatleast10lbs.Youwillhaveanabundanceofenergyandanimproveddisposition.

    DayOneAllfruitsexceptbananas.Yourfirstdaywillconsistofallthefruitsyouwant.Itisstronglysuggestedthatyouconsumelotsofmelonsthefirstday.Especiallywatermelonandaloupe.Ifyoulimityourfruitconsumptiontomelons,yourchancesoflosingthreelbs.onfirstdayareverygood.

    DayTwoAllvegetables.Youareencouragedtoeatuntilyouarestuffedwithalltheraworcookedvegetablesofyourchoice.Thereisnolimitontheamountortype.Foryourcomplexcarbohydrate,youwillstartdaytwowithalargebakedpotatoforbreakfast.Youmaytopthepotatowithonepatofbutter.

    DayThreeAmixtureoffruitsandvegetablesofyourchoice.Anyamount,anyquantity.Nobananasyet.Nopotatoestoday.

    DayFourBananasandmilk.Todayyouwilleatasmanyaseightbananasanddrinkthreeglassesofmilk.Thiswillbecombinedwiththespecialsoupwhichmaybeeateninlimitedquantities.

    DaySevenTodayyourfoodintakewillconsistofbrownrice,fruitjuicesandallthevegetablesyoucaretoconsume.

    Tomorrowmorningyouwillbe1017lbs.lighterthanoneweekago.Ifyoudesirefurtherweightloss,repeattheprogramagain.Youmayrepeatthisprogramasoftenasyoulike,however,itissuggestedthatyouareallowedtwoglassesofwhitewineinadditiontotheinstructionsontheprogram.Youmaysubstitutechampagneforwhitewine.Undernocircumstancesareyoutodrinkanyotheralcoholicbeverageswiththeexceptionofbeerwhichisallowed.Anyliquor(bourbon,vodka,rum)isforbidden.Creamdrinksareespeciallyforbidden.Youmayhaveanoccasionalcordialsuchascremedementheorschnapps,butyoumustalwayslimityourselftotwodrinks.Ifyouwine,drinkonlywinethatday.Ifyouhavebeer,drinkonlybeerthatday,etc.Alcoholaddsemptycaloriestoyourdiet.However,afterthefirstweekitwillhelpyourdigestionandsettleyourstomach.

    Thefollowingsoupisintendedasasupplementtoyourdiet.Itcanbeeatenanytimeofthedayinvirtuallyunlimitedquantities.Youareencouragedtoconsumelargequantitiesofthissoup.

    28oz,Water,6LargeOnions,2GreenPeppers,WholeTomatoes(freshorcanned),1HeadCabbage,1BunchCelery,4EnvelopesLiptonOnionSoupMix,HerbsandFlavouringasdesired.

    AdditionalComments

    Vegetablesasmaybetakenintheformofasaladifdesired.Nodressingexceptmalt,whiteorwinevinegar,squeezedlemon,garlic,herbs.Nomorethanoneteaspoonofoil.

    YouhavebeengivenarecipefortheWONDERSOUPwhichcanbeeateninunlimitedquantities.Thissoupisasupplementwhileyouareontheprogramanditshouldbeapleasuretoeat.Noteveryonelikescabbage,greenpeppers,caloryetc.Thisrecipeisnotinflexible.Youmaysubstitutevegetablesaccordingtoyourtaste.Youmayaddanyvegetablesyoulike:asparagus,peas,corn,turnips,greenbeans,cauliflower,etc.Trytostayawayfrombeans(lima,pinto,kidney,etc.),however,becausetheytendtobehighincalorieseventhoughtheyareverygoodforyou.

    Beveragesyoumayconsumewhileontheprogram:

    1. Water(flavouredwithlemon/limeifdesired).2. ClubSodaisOK.3. BlackCoffee.Nocreamorcreamsubstitute.Nosugarorsweetness.4. BlackTea=HerborLeaf.

    DayFive,Beefandtomatoes.Thebeefisforironandproteins,thetomatoesarefordigestionandfibre.Lotsandlotsofwaterpurifiesyoursystem.Youshouldnoticecolourlessurinetoday.Yourallowancecallsfortheequivalentoffive"quarterponders".Donotfeelyouhavetoeatallthisbeef.Youmusteatthesixtomatoes.

    DaySixissimilartodayfive,Ironandproteinsfrombeef,Vitaminsandfibrefromvegetables.Bynowyoursystemisinatotalweightlossinclination.Thereshouldbeanoticeabledifferenceinthewayyoulooktoday,comparedtodayone.
