PART A: Civil units
Oil and Grease Trap: Oil and Grease is separated in this chamber and only effluent without oil and grease is allowed to flow for further process Bar screen chamber: This removes foreign materials such as plastic, rag or any other solids/ floating matter along with the incoming effluent. Equalisation Tank: In this compartment air is pumped and the liquid is churned to make a uniform suspension of the particles. SBR Tank: The tank is divided into pre-aeration and main aeration tanks by a baffle wall with openings at the bottom. The sewage flows continuously into the pre-aeration tank, which acts as a biological selector enhancing the growth of the most desirable organisms while limiting the growth of filamentous bacteria. Sewage from pre aeration tank flows through openings at the bottom of the baffle wal l and into the main aeration tank where BOD removal and nitrification occur. After aeration phase, sludge separation occurs in the settling phase. Decant Tank: After settling, the clear water from top is removed through a PLC operated decanter. De-nitrification occurs during anoxic periods of settling and decant phases. The excess sludge is wasted during decant phase. Final Treated water Tank: The SBR treated water is disinfected using Sodium Hypochlorite and filtered through a Pressure Sand Filter, activated carbon filter and finally through UV system. The final treated water will be stored in
AI SATS SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT

the final treated water tank for recycling, for Landscape and for flushing purpose. Sludge Holding Tank: The excess sludge is dewatered using sludge filter press.
PART B: Electromechanical Equipments:
Raw Sewage Lift pumps: Pumps the sewage from Equalisation tank to SBR tank Blowers: Blows the air to diffusers provided in both equalisation tank and in SBR tank UPVC/ GI pipes: Pipe materials used for interconnection piping and for blower piping’s. Sludge transfer Pumps: Transfers the sludge from SBR to Sludge holding tank. Screw pumps: Transfers the sludge from Sludge holding tank to filter press. Mechanical Filter Press: Presses the sludge in the form of cakes so that it can be used as manure. Diffusers: Diffuses the air into tank Monobloc/ Submersible filter feed pumps: Pumps the water from Decant tank to Filter units. Pressure Sand Filter: Removes Suspended impurities Activated Carbon Filter: Removes Odour and Colour Chlorine Dosing system: Acts as disinfectant UV Treatment; Acts as 100% disinfectant killing all bacteria’s.

( 2kgs of oxygen is required for every kg of BOD 5 to be
removed)
% of oxygen in air =0.21; density of air =1.2
Air requirement = 84/0.21= 400/1.2 = 333 cum/day
Air requirement = 24 cum/ hr
Diffuser transfer efficiency @6% /m liquid depth
Considering avg 3.0m liquid depth, effective efficiency =
18%
Air requirement shall be 133 cum/hr ( SBR tank alone)
