Our Youth Centers, which are working under the supervision ofDepartment of Youth and Sports, enable young to engage in social,cultural activities, arts and sports in their spare time according to theirinterests, wants and abilities. 81 il ve 53 ilede hizmet ve faaliyetlerinisrdren 134 genlik merkezimizde47.135 faal olmak zere halen 139.754ye gencimiz bulunmaktadr.

Genlik Merkezlerim'de faaliyet gsterengenler hem kendi kiisel geliimlerinigelitirmekte hem de yerellerine faydalbirer aktif vatanda olmalar vastasylafaydal ve hizmet anlayna sahip

In our 134 youth centers, 81 in citiesand 53 in towns, we have 139.754 youngmembers 47.135 of whom work actively.

Ertesi gn ikiyzellibin ehit kan aktlarakCumhuriyetimizin temellerinin atldanakkale ve Gelibolu yarmadas ile Truvave Asos'u gezmektedirler. Genlerimize bugezilere balarken anakkale Sava veBilecik ili ile ilgili bilgiler verilmekte ve dahasonra illerine geri dnlerinde yaadklarduygu ykl gnler ile ilgili grleri yazlolarak alnmaktadr.

2004 ylnda 3000, 2005 ylnda 3240, 2006ylnda ise 3400 gencimiz bu gezilere katlmolup, 2007 yl itibar ile geziler halen devametmektedir.

Our Youth Centers Sight Visits ToBilecik And Canakkale

Canakkale War is very important and honorevent in Turkish history since it reflects thefight of a huge nation for its existence.

It is also important due to the fact that it isthe war that made Mustafa Kemal Atatrk,the founder of the Republic of Turkey, knownby all world countries and named as BigCommander.

By Canakkale War, the Turkish Republic thathad been dominating the world for centuriesstopped the imperialist power, which tries toexploit the world.

Canakkale is a great victory, which created

the basis for the foundation of the Republicof Turkey.

It is the evidence of what people can dowhen they have the belief.

Canakkale is the realization of the impossible.

Since the year 2004, we have started visitsto Bilecik and Canakkale in order to makeyoung understand the importance of historyand to make them feel like they are facingthe same events at the same places.

Every week, on average 120 young fromthree cities (40 from each) has been

participating in these scheduled visits.

First, they visit St, where Ottoman Empirehad been founded, then Erturul Gazi andeyh Edebali and then they see thehistorically and culturally important placesof Bilecik.

The next day, they visit anakkale andGelibolu where lots of soldiers died forindependence of Turkey. They also go andsee Truva and Asos. Before starting to thevisits, we inform young about anakkaleWar and Bilecik. And before they return totheir cities, they inform us about how they

feel about the places they saw.

In 2004 3000, in 2005 3240 and in 20063400 young participated in these visits. Andthese visits are continuing to take place bythe year 2007.

Turkey is a culturally rich country

with its east and west and with

its local differences. Black Sea,

Eastern and Aegean people are

all dressed in different manners,

they talk, eat, dance and live

differently. However, our young

do not know all of these beautiful

characteristics.

If a young born in Black Sea does

not know other regions or the

culture of the people living in other

regions, it will be very difficult to

communicate with those people.

For this reason, Project of

Exchange Between Youth

Centers has started in 2005 to

make young know each other,

live their cultures and have

friends. Every year one city

exchange young with another city

according to the determined

programme.

For instance; Youth Center ofTrabzon goes to Mardin with 15-

20 young and they spend 5 days

visiting villages of Mardin, learn

the way people get dressed, the

way people eat and talk, in short

they learn about the living styles

and culture of those people. Then

following days, Mardin Youth

Center goes to Trabzon and gets

to know their culture. By this way,people from two different cultures

have the opportunity to know

each other.

2004 ylndan itibaren Genlik Merkezleri'ne ynelik hem merkezi hem deyerel bir ok "Proje ve Kampanya Ynetimi" eitim kursu verilmitir. Bueitimlere katlan gnll genler araclyla Avrupa Bilii'nden onlarcagnll gen gelerek Genlik Merkezleri'nde 6-12 ay kalm ve gnllhizmette bulunmulardr.

Ayrca yine onlarca Trk genci Avrupa Birlii lkelerine uzun sreli gnllhizmetinde bulunmak zere yurt dna gitmitir. Bu deiimler daha ksasreli ve grup halinde de gerekletirilmitir. Bylece DPT'nin sunduu buolanaktan projeler yazarak uygulayan genler hem bireysel kapasiteleriniarttrmlardr; hem de genlerin edindii tecrbeleri Genlik Merkezleri'netamasyla Genlik Merkezleri yurt dndaki ortaklaryla bulumulardr.

Bu projeler vastasyla Genlik Merkezi gnll genleri hem Avrupa Birliipolitika gelitirme unsurlarnda yerini almaya balarken hem de sadecegenler iin kullanlmak zere milyonlarca Euro'luk hibe kaynaklarnn daTrkiye ve Trk genleri iin kullanlma ans bulunmutur.

One of the most important source of project for Youth in Turkey is StatePlaning Organisation Center For European Union Education and YouthProgrammes.

By the year 2004, there are many trainings about "Project and CampaignManagment" is given to Youth in Youth Centers. Volunteers in thesetrainings had been writing the projects and applied for funds. Then, manyYouth Centers got the chance to imply the projects. They have been hostedvolunteers for 6-12 months, they also made group exhanges.

Thus; youth have gained a lot from this process both personally and locally.

Youth Centers have became unique places for those projects in local.Having partners in EU, Youth Centers could see the world from very bigvision and taking the grant for projects, they spend all the money for youthas well. Moreover, youth have improved self consiousness. By this; bringingmoney to our country, they have became more activecitizenship.

Tarih , dil, din ve corafi yaplardan beslenir.Kltrmz zmsemek, yaatmak ve gelecek nesillere aktarmak, duygu ve dncelerimiziyre yre ifade eden Trklerimizi sergilemek, kkl ve zengin deerlere sahip rf ve adetlerimiziyanstan Halk Oyunlarmz yaatarak Milli gurur ve heyecan yaratan bu etkinliklerle genlerekendilerini ifade edebilme frsat vermek amacyla; yl boyu tm yurtta Trk Halk Oyunlar veTrk Halk Mzii yarma ve etkinlikleri yaplmaktadr.

Tm illerimizin ve niversitelerimizin katld bu etkinliklerden solist, solo alg ve koroformatnda yaplan Trk Halk Mzii yarmalarna;

2004 ylnda 12 niversite, 81 l genlik merkezi ve 81 il kulp, dernek, kurum ve kuruluukatlmtr. Yarmalarn grup ve finallerine 1344 gencimiz yarmac olarak katlmtr.

2005 ylnda 13 niversite, 81 il genlik merkezi ve 81 il kulp, dernek, kurum ve kuruluukatlmtr. Yarmalarn grup ve finallerine 2754 gencimiz yarmac olarak katlmtr.

2006 ylnda 13 niversite, 81 il Genlik Merkezi ve 81 il kulp, dernek, kurum ve kuruluukatlmtr. Yarmalarn grup ve finallerine 2435 gencimiz yarmac olarak katlmtr.

2007 ylnda ise yarmalarn bir blm tamamlanm bir blm ise devam etmektedir.

Trk Halk Oyunlar Etkinlikleri ise;

2005 ylnda 78 lden 5303 gencimiz,

2006 ylnda 72 ilden 3080 gencimiz fiilen etkinliklere katlmtr.

2007 ylnda etkinlikler devam etmektedir.

Trk Halk Mzii ve Trk Halk Oyunlar etkinlikleri ve yarmalar l Etkinlikleri, Grup ve TrkiyeFinali eklinde yaplmaktadr. Yukarda belirtilen rakamlar sadece grup ve Trkiye finallerinekatlan yarmac genlerin saylar olup, l eleme yarmalarna ise binlerce gencimiz katlmaktadr.

Kutlamalar ve Kltrel Faaliyetler ubemiz'in misyonu ise halk oyunu ve mzii aralarnkullanarak genleri kaynatrmak ve kltrmzn bu iki temel direini ayakta tutmak vepaylalmasn salamaktr. ubemiz bu anlay ierisinde yl ierisinde binlerce gencimizindahil olduu enlikler, eitimler, yarmalar organize etmekte ve tm gerekletirdii etkinliklerdegenlerin bilgi, beceri ve yaklamlarn gelitirmektedir.

One of the most important elements what make societies nations is their cultures. The cultureis the main component of that nation. It is nourished by the history, language, religion andgeographical structures.

The competitions and activities of Turkish Folk Dances and Turkish Folk Music are held aroundthe country with the aim of internalizing our culture and keeping it alive and passing it to thenext generations; displaying folk songs which explain our emotions and thoughts from a regionto a region; giving an opportunity to the young people to explain themselves with these activitieswhich create honour and excitement by keeping our Folk Dances alive which reflect our richcustoms and traditions.

To the competitions of Turkish Folk Music which were held in soloist, solo instrument and choirtypes and that all cities and universities attended;

12 universities, 81 youth centres and 81 city clubs, organizations, institutions and foundationsattended in 2004. 1344 young people attended as contestants to the groups and finals of thecompetitions.



In 2007, some parts of the competitions completed; one part is continuing.

To the activities of Turkish Folk Dances;

5303 young people from 78 cities in 2005 ,

3080 young people from 72 cities in 2006 attended actively.

The activities in 2007 is continuing.

The competitions and activities of Turkish Folk Music and Turkish Folk Dances are held as CityActivities, Group and Turkish Final. The numbers above are of contestant young people whoparticipated in only group and Turkish finals; thousands of young people attended to theelimination competitions.

With the aim of youth's exhibiting their social,cultural and sports activities which they do intheir free time actively; enabling them integratedwith the society around the national values andimproving their sense of responsibility, it hasbeen decided in 1983 by the council of ministersdecision that every year the week of 15th-21stMay is celebrated as "Youth Week" around thecountry enthusiastically.

Because of the celebrations held in Ankara,young people from 81 cities, representativeyoung people from Turkish Republic of NorthernCyprus, disabled young people and

representatives of working young people meetin Ankara between 15th-20th of May.

The young people come to Ankara arewelcomed by the president of the republic, the

president of Turkish Grand National Assemblyand prime minister. After young people visit

Antkabir in Ankara, they participate in theactivities in the Celevration Programme of YouthWeek.

On the last day of the youth week, the youngpeople go to anakkale to see the areas of ouranakkal victory which directed our history.

The Ministry of Culture and Tourism, AnkaraMetropolitan Municipality and other countymunicipalities, Universities in Ankara, NGOsattend to the Capital City Celebrations of YouthWeek actively.

The young people between the ages of 13-17 who haveless opportunities and have never seen anywhere exceptthe villages, towns or cities they live in are taken fromtheir hometowns and got to the camps and at the endfrom the camps to the hometowns without any moneyincluding transportation, pocket money for travelling andfood boxes.

The young people who attend to the youth camps aredecided by the criteria below by Provincial Directorateof Youth and Sports.

1- Successful youth at school by the coordination ofNational Education Directorates and shcoolasministrations,

2- Successful and active youth at some cultural andsports competitions,

3- Among the disabled youth, those who can move bythemselves,

4- Youth who take education in the centres ofapprenticeship education and who work in some places,

5- Youth who are relatives of martyries and veterans,

6- Youth who are the members of Youth Centres,

7- Youth who accomodate in orphanages of SHEK,avail of these camps

With this project carried out in 2005 for the first time,every year 3000 young people;

With a project started in 2005, newarrangements were made for the youthamong the age group of 18-24; and naturecamps for 500 people are opened in thetablelands of our country.

Tents, sleeping-bags, blankets and otherequipment aid for the nature camps are

provided with a protocol signed with the RedCrescent Association in Turkey. 3000 young

people have an opportunity to stay in naturecamps with symbolic amount of money.

In these camps, some trips which showhistorical and cultural wealth and naturalbeauties and tablelands; and the youth incamps go to the villages and attend thefestivals.

Besides social activities like folk dances,music, theatre and handicraftswith the aimof having intercultural interaction and makingfriends, sports activities such as

philosopher Mevlana Celaleddin'iRumi and UNESCO announced

that 2007 is the Year of MevlanaTolerance, we brought Turkishand World Youth together inKonya in th frame of love, peace,friendship and tolerance whichare the main doctrines of MevlanaCelalleddin-i Rumi.

A youth meeting calledInternational Youth Meeting inTolerance of Mevlana wasorganised on 19th-26th August2007 in Konya; and about 1500

young people (600 from 22different countries, 900 from 81Turkish Youth Centres) attendedthis meeting.

Young people presented their folkdances of their own countries andcities with the themes of love,

peace and friendship; they goteducation of art, photograph, end-blown flute, ebru and whirlingdervish and workshops in thedirection of Mevlana's main

doctrines; they presented theircountries and cities on the stallsin the tolerance square; theyattended symposium and panels.

In the meeting week where theprogramme of Mevlevi ceremonywas held, with the slogan of"World and Turkish Youth aremeeting Atatrk", young peoplewent to Ankara to visit Antkabirand the Museum of Antkabir.

take part in Youth Centres is a politicalimprovement which guards the needsof local with universal values. represent them are the dynamicstructure of a country. Carrying on thisstructure successfully is related with agood management as well as correctand beautiful works done by thoseorganisations.

Fort hat purpose, we organise trainingcourses for these clubs to providecommunication between youth clubs(NGO's) registered to the head office,to provide them to carry on their servicesand facilities in the frame of our country'sculture and value judgement.

Apart from that, we've given financialsupport since 2004 to the youth clubsfor their services and facilities.
